Szybkowski / Szypkowski family information

Hello everybody, does anybody have information related to the Szybkowski family? This was the surname of my Great-Grandfather whom I am currently researching, I have never found any official information regarding 'Szybkowski' nor have I found any historical or modern individual that bears the name. Any information whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.

Im looking for information regarding the "Szybkowski" "Schipkowski" surname. What is it's derivation? Any help would be very much appreciated.

looking for information regarding the "Romot" "Romotowski" "Romoth" surnames. Is it based on the name of the village "Romoty" near Olecko in North East Poland?

I have "Szybkowski" ancestors. surname variously spelled as Szybowski, Schipkowski & Schipkowski (and so I gather Schittkowski!). My ancestors lived in the Gdansk area of what is now Northern Poland when it was ruled by Prussia/ Germany - Kreis Stuhm. Towns/ villages included Marienburg; Kollosomp; Neumark; Krastuden.

There is a polish word "SZYBKO" which means quick/ rapid/ fast. I don't know if this is the root of the surname.

Individuals/ farmers with the surname Schipkowsky appear on the West Prussian Land Register of 1772. This might suggest "sheep" to be the root of the surname.

Searching on rootsweb, ancestry.com and familysearch.org list many with variant forms of the surname who emigrated to the USA.

German and Polish telephone directories list individuals with relevant surnames. There was even a family here, in Hull UK, until relatively recent years.

Merged: Szybkowski family records from Daszyna?

Hi everybody, I'm trying to find records pertaining to my Great-Great Grandparents from Daszyna, Lodz. Their names were Marianna and Martin Szybkowski. From what I understand they resided in Daszyna until at least 1914 (My Great-Grandfather Jozef was born that year, I'm also looking for his birth certificate), perhaps into the 30s. I'm looking for birth/ Marriage certificates etc. Basically any documentation that might mention them or their family. Where might one search for such information?

SZYBKOWSKI: root-word szybki (swift, fast) or szybka (little pane of glass). Like nearly all -owski ending surnames this probably originated as a toponmyic tag. There is one place in Poland called Szybkowice which might have generated it but two even more ideal sources are found in Russia (Siberia and St Petersburg area) -- Шибкoвo (Polish Szybkowo). Some 200 people in Poland sign themselves Szybkowski.

My name is Michal Szypkowski but correct spelling before WWII was Szybkowski. I live in UK and looking for brothers and sisters of Franciszek Szypkowski. There was 8 of them: family head, wife, grandmother, 3 brothers and 2 sisters from Prussia, probably Inowroclaw. 2 brothers were forced to work in Germany. P.S my dad told me that when war finished many workers in magistrates were not that bright so they were making mistakes with surnames and many people didn't know how to spell their names right either.

I am new to forum and looking for lost family of Szybkowski from North Poland- Inowroclaw, Elblag. My name is Szypkowski but should be Szybkowski as it was misspelt. I am looking for a family of Franciszek Szybkowski my Grandfather, should be 2 more brothers and 2 sisters born between 1900 and 1930. Both brothers were forced to work in Germany and Franciszek killed by electrical wires after war. Family left to USA probably

Extract from West Prussia land register 1772. My great grandfather was Anton Szybkowski born in Kollosomp in 1830. Died Kasteuden in 1898. He had an uncle Franciscus Szybkowski born 1822 in Zoppot or Kollosomp. Let me know if any connections. Sorry for taking 3 years to respond.
