Looking for anyone related to these people. Kasperus B. and Katrazyna Stszeszynski. They were from Nekla. Came over on a boat that deported from Bremen, Germany and arrived in New York in 1883 on the S.S. Main or S.S Donau. I am workin on our family tree. I have already contacted Lukasz Bielecki of the Poznan Project and he helped me locate the church records of my Great Great Grandfather and Great Great Grandmothers marriage. Looking for anyone belonging to these people and more information on them as well. I know that Kasperus' and Katrazyna's parents are Agnieszka and Antoni (Walczak) and Roza or Rozalia and Andrzej Strzeszynski. If anyone could give me a clue where to look for more info on these people it would be great. I keep running into dead ends.

Merged: Looking for family of Jozefa Walczak / Swiec

My name is Peter Swiec. My father was Garbriel Swiec and was born in Poland. He had 2 sisters and a brother. I am trying to find family of his sister Jozefa. She had 5 children. 1 was called Ursula and another Janek. I don't know the names of the other 3. Her married name was Walczak. I live in Australia and would like to have contact with Jozefa's family. Jozefa's sister was Marianna and other brother was Waclaw. I think she would have been born around 1910?

WALCZAK is straightforward enough = Val's son (patronymic).

But SWIEC is a different story. Origin uncertain, but there are some 2 dozen people who spell their name Swiec in Poland (the largest cluster around Zielona Góra);

ŚWIEC: possibly derived from świeca (candle) - around 200 users, the most in and around Opole.

ŚWIEĆ: from świecić (to light, shine, illuminate) - app. 30 users, 1/2 in the Lublin area

ŚWIĘĆ: from święcić (to bless, sanctify, make holy); 7 users (3 in Kraków area).)

My father was born in Tarkowice, Poland (near Lublin) in1906. His father was Piotr and mother Marianna. My father left Poland when he was 15 to work in Germany. After the war he moved to Australia with my mother and myself. I would love to find the family of my father's sister, Jozefa. Her married name was Walczak.

Hi.
At first one should establish how your name sounded in Poland.
To this purpose we must reach an authentic birth certificate of your father

Hello,
My grandfather's name was Ignatz or Ignotious Walczak. He married Josephine Burmisteczak and lived in Orzechowo (between Wrzesnia and Jarocin) Poland. Is anyone out there related to me or could tell me more about them? They married in "Polish Germany" or West Prussia.

Thank you,
Karol Walchak
