Hi,

I was born in Poland and I have been adopted when I was 3 years old. I have been to Poland several times but can't actually speak Polish. i would like to know if there are other people in the same situation as me who wish to share their experience.

Hi there,

Welcome to the forum. There are a couple of threads open on adoption. Just do a search in the top right hand corner for "adopted".

You know convex, one day, I'd like to help those people who were adopted from Poland. Not sure how, or what, or anything really - but it strikes me that many of them would be really grateful for being able to write an e-mail or phone someone to talk about it.

Hello, I was adopted from an orphanage in Bobolice in 1977. I was adopted to Canada and this is where I still reside. I do not have access to any paperwork at all as my adoptive parents insist on being very stubborn & private about everything. It was told to me that my biological aunt of mine worked at the orphanage and showed genuine concern for where I was being placed. I am curious about my birth parents and if I have any siblings. What is the process I must go through to find my birth family. I just beginning my search and thought perhaps someone may be able to help direct me? I have children of my own now and having them has caused me to feel a deep desire to find out more and hopefully meet my birth family. Thank you in advance if you think you can help!

I was adopted at the age of 12 but my adoption was always an "open adoption".
I always had contact with my biological family and have visited them often.
Once I've stayed in Poland for 2 months and once 3 months.
I've left behind my parents, grandmother and 2 sisters :(
I was adopted by my aunt and uncle.
They've sent me to a "paradise" which I'm still trying
to find here in USA.
