edward22: im going to poland and i have a couple of questions im trying to get information on my family /i was adopted where in poland can i go to get information about my family and what documents would i need to have in order to get the information Ask your adoptive parents for the original papers; it should have the name of the town and the orphanage or even the adoption agency. They will have the info about your parent(s). I'm not sure if they can disclose it or not but I cannot see why they wouldn't. You will need your birth certificate, and you will need a copy of the adoption papers. Call the orphanage, town government or agency where you were adopted from and tell them your situation. Ask them for all the documents you will need and insist if that's all. Polish bureaucracy moves in slo-motion and even in reverse. Sometimes they ask for things they never told you to obtain. Good Luck and Godspeed, I hope you find them.
