When I had darker hair and a tan, I did get mistaken for being Italian quite a few times in Italy so I know I don't look English!!

i like very much this look

and she doesn't mind that you're posting her photo here?? .. a little OT..

Blue-eyed, blond hair isn't characteristic only to Poles. Hell.. during the WWII, the Nazi would "select" blue-eyed, blond haired children to raise them as good Germans.

The following links will shed more light on this myth and will (read may) explain the prevalence of blondes in the Baltic area:

Dear AVJoeUK...please be advised that different eye colours are quite common in Poland; however, true blonde women are few and far between.

I spent quite a bit of time in Poland and tasted their wares; plenty of peroxide bombshells but "True" blondes are almost non-existent. Having said that, the polish women are definitely one of the prettiest I've seen around the world.

Now, before I get attacked by loads of brunettes and/or peroxide powered blondes, please be advised that I don't have a penchant for blondes. I was just stating my experience with women in Poland.

It's quite alright Krysia...they enjoyed the experience as did I.

Ah ! the joys of hearing the continual rants & ravings of the US/Canadian "coalition of the willing" is really priceless...;-)

Now, has this turned into a gender war? Where do I begin? With this Sledz fellow who has the combined intellectual ability & memory retention of a herd of baboons (can’t even seem to get my name right, you see) or a couple of highly irritating women who so desperately need a book titled "A red-neck woman's guide on how to act feminine”?

As for the peroxide...I usually refer to them as having the Eastern block look. As per the other part of your statement, I have found the opposite. Of course we are talking preferences. I haven't seen a confirmed Polish woman who I found attracts me. I usually find the larger nose or general facial features not to my liking. Of course that's just me. Opinions vary.

my husband introduced me to four of his Polish mates. Not a single one has blonde hair and blue eyes. They had kinda darker hair? Definitely not blonde. One of them had mousy coloured hair but that's like a dirty blonde/ash brown mix. I didn't notice their eye colour. .. If their eyes had been blue it was definitely not the sort of clear striking blue eyes you often see in many British people. I had a Polish classmate when I was studying Spanish in Uni and she was blonde hair blue eyed. So that means 1 out of 5 Polish people I've met was blonde hair blue eyed.

I know a Swedish friend and he has blonde hair blue eyes that's for sure. And no tan!
My friend's got a Finnish boyfriend and he's got blonde hair blue eyes.
I think you will find higher percentage of blonde hair blue eyed people in northern Scandinavian countries like Sweden and Norway perhaps?

I would agree with you, but in my family-(the polish side) About half my aunts and uncle's were blonde hair blue eyes, which my sister got, and the other half were brown hair with eyes like a cameleon... :)--those of which I got.

@ Moon : They are pretty eyes. only other people I've met with eyes like this are in some Brits and Germans. My husband has the same sort of eyes and his ancestry a bit mixed (dutch, german, italian). He was born with very light blonde hair and had it as a baby, but by the time he was 5 his hair had darkened to a sort of mousy colour (like a mix of medium brown and light blondish hair). now he's got quite dark mousy brown hair (still looks like a mixed colour, not pure...) I saw it in his baby and kid photos.
My youngest daughter got his chameleon eyes, but they are more bluish and the yellow ring in the centre is not as striking. My other daughter has brown eyes like me, but her eyes are lighter brown.

Maybe gene theories can explain how eye colours are passed down from generations!

the poles are slavic, they are not nordic like the scandanavians or the british. The polish are eastern european.

Polish people are differant from northern europeans.
