Soroczuk - son of soroka (Ruthenian for magpie; Polish - sroka). 18 people are surnamed Soroczuk in Poland, 15 of them living in the recovered lands, indicating their eastern borderland roots.

Sroka would be a popular name amongst Newcastle FC supporters as they are known as the Magpies :)

Visit http://www.herby.com.pl/ for the number of Sroczuks. Gettinn in touch would be a tricky propositon. You would have to go through a government office (you know all the privacy protection nonsense). The sought-fter party would have to agree to have their adress given ouu buuprobably you couldnt' say "any Sroczuk" but would have to pin it down at least to a localtiy and a Chrisian name. Just in case you are determined, the no. to phone in Poland is: 4822 601-1839. They don't list an e-mail, probably on purpose so as not to get swamped with enquiries. Good luck!
