Several years ago I received Baptismal Certificates from a priest who was responsible for the Krakow Archives. These Certificates were for Jan Baran my great uncle (son of Jan Baran).Anna Baran my Great aunt and Mariana Jaroz my future Great Grandmother. All were baptised at Wniebowiecio Najsw Mariya Panny in Oswiecim town of Brzenzinki. I suspect that the Wengrzyn's had close ties to the Baran's from information I gathered from U.S. census. I'm looking for any information on the Baran;s and Wengrzyn's
i.e marriage, birth, death etc on these two families from the parish. I have written to the parish and have included a donation to the parish but no luck any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Jaworski

BARAN: ram (male sheep), possibly topo nick from Baranów (Ramsville)

JAROŻ: misspelling of jarosz (vegetarian)

WENGRZYN: misspelling of Węgrzyn (a Hungarian or Tokay wine)

JAWORSKI: from topographic jawor (sycamore) or toponymic from places such as Jaworów (Sycamoreville).
