Can't find where my Grandmother's family came from in Poland. Trying to trace her only brother, but with no luck at all. Can't find him on Ellis Island site, he never naturalized or applied for S.Secruity. Looking to trace his parent's names and the village he and his sisters immigrated from around 1908.
Where else could I poss. find this info?
Thanks, Maria

Search the Death Records databases. There are plenty of web sites offering an interface to those collections. If you can't find him there: do you know in which town he lived? Then you might be able to locate his grave on the local cemetery and get his birth date (and maybe even place). Parish registers should also be available.

PS: your grandmother's family didn't come from Poland, as such a state didn't exist in 1908.

Did he ever marry? If so the marriage certificate is a wonderful source of information. ( people generally didn't lie when providing information to the church, at least this has been my experience)

Surnames were notoriously misspelt in the text transcript. Should you provide the surname you may get some further help on the option.

Ellis Island is only one point of entry. My ancestors came in through Philadelphia and my wifes came in thru New Orleans. Look for records from other ports of entry. The actual name you are search on would make it easier to help you.
