Presently i am expecting a baby in few months time.
I posses a temporary residence for one year which I used to applied for my entry visa to Poland it will expire in 2 months time. I have already applied for another temporary residence to extend my stay in Poland.

MY QUESTION IS: How long will it take me to get a Polish citizenship? Please feed me with details.

As far as I know there is no automatic process to get Polish citizenship. Every application has to be reviewed and approved by the president personally. Meaning by L.K. :(
If you are a footballer the national team urgently needs - that might speed up the process :)

Not sure that's true I asked the local government in Warsaw and they said you can obtain "permanent residence" card or "stałe pobytu" after 3 years of living together, but it requires an "iterrogation" so they can be sure you're legit. That is NOt citizenship which is something you arguably can apply for, but I'm uncertain from information I recevied if it is actually possible. For sure the permamanent karta pobytu is better than the 1-year temporary one. It's a lot of waiting to get it.

marriage was outside Poland in Brazil.

A friendly tip: Get your marriage Brazilian marriage registered in Poland. This is done either through the Polish Embassy in Brazil or through the authorities in Poland.

It's three years minimum.

There's also a good chance that a Polish language requirement will be brought in sooner rather than later, so I advise you to learn Polish now.

Well the simple answer is!

You are eligible for the Polish Citizenship after three years of marriage and two years of continuous living in Poland.

That means if you are married to a Polish National and you live in Poland legally for two years. You are eligible for citizenship but you can only apply after getting the permanent residence card, which you acquire only after 3 years.

So in total you can be a polish citizen in 3 and half months after your marriage.

Please also note that you must not travel outside Poland for more than 6 months in a year in that stay of two years.

Hope the above answers.

You have to have been in a marriage to a Polish citizen for at least 3 years and have been living in Poland for 2 years by virtue of a residence permit for a fixed period.

This doesn't mean just legal stay. If you are living here on a visa you must apply as soon as possible for a 'Residence permit for a fixed period of time'. Also you will have to have your wedding recognised and also obtain a Polish birth certificate.

I'm not sure how you get the wedding recognised. I assume it's just a case of getting a sworn translation of your wedding certificate (copy of your original wedding certificate must be less than three months old and will possibly require an Apostille stamp. You will probably be issued with a Polish wedding certificate.)

A copy of your birth certificate less than three months old will be required probably with an Apostille stamp and you will definitely be issued with a Polish birth certificate.

You can expect to be interviewed to prove that the marriage is genuine.

I was married in Poland so didn't need to get the wedding recognised (that's why I'm not certain of the procedure).

I had to obtain a Polish birth certificate.

Even though I've lived here legally for over 10 years I had to obtain a 'karta stałego pobytu' but I'm from the EU so it's different for me. You definitely will need the residence permit for the fixed period of time.

hello all,

can somebody tell me if after the interview of husband and wife for polish citizenship, they r not satisfied and asking for more information from family members, will they refuse the application if yes then what to do... please if somebody knows about it will be very helpful, coz its really disgusting thing in this country, waiting so long doing everything what they want and later problems and problems from this paper works.

If you don't want to wait, you don't have to have Polish citizenship.

For what it's worth, if they block you from obtaining Polish citizenship, then you need to pay for an expensive lawyer and fight them in the courts. Poland has been putting a lot of obstacles in the path of citizenship for non-EU citizens by marriage, and I know of a case personally where someone had to wait 6 years for citizenship to be confirmed.

And yes, you can expect refusal in the first instance. Poland doesn't have much tolerance for passport marriages.

To Indian Boys: if your application form is refused you need to get your solicitor. You will be told on the refusal letter how many days you have to appeal agains the decision . If it doeasn`t work you can always go for Human Rights Appeal. Whatever will be their decision the goverment needs to follow it. You can stay in EU as long as the case is not close however you wont be able to leave the country.

As far as I know to get polish citizenship you need to be married for 3.5 years and have a residency permission approved and declare an intention of becoming a Polish citizen. Application needs to take place within 6 months from obtaining the residence permit otherwise you can apply for Polish citizen after 5 years of marriage.

I am very surprised it is still not required, but what can you expect? This is Polska. It is high time to create Polish ICE to pick up all the foraign "students" who forgot to go back to their countries of origin.Shouldn't be that hard.Simple solution is to rise immigration fees to pay for Immigration Police.I am more than sure there would be plenty of Poles willing to do this job.(I would, even for a minimum wage.)

You are free to go wherever the process is easier and painless.I am sure you will find a place where you will be given spanking new passport right away.

In your dreams.Human Rights Appeal?Funny. It is not your right to live wherever you want to it is a privillage.

Not under EU law. The family members of an EU national have the right to reside in the EU with the EU national.

There's one very simple reason why it's not required : too many foreigners who can claim Polish citizenship (especially those Polish-Americans) without being able to speak Polish. If they close the door on those people, there'll be a huge fuss in Poland.

There aren't many like that - most of them are quite legitimately registered, because the police do quite frequently check them. I've seen the police hassle clearly non-EU citizens a few times.

The lack of a burgundy passport is a dead giveaway.

ICE??? you are probably living in america or you were born there!! becouse you have the same ****** up ideas like americans!!!! if you are polish and live in america dont forget that you are an immigrant too and even if you WERE born in america , you have polish background which means that your ancestors were born in poland!!! Everybody in america are not really "americans" their ancesters they all come from some europian countries or you are just a simple racist motherfu...!! so everybody has the same opportunities as everybody else to be succsessful in life!!! no matter where they are from or they're at!! so stop with *********** immigration ****!!!
