My grandmother turned 18 in 1950. Polish Citizenship Laws.

Hi,

So I have a question for those of you who might know something about confirming Polish Citizenship. My great-grandfather had Polish citizenship and came to US passing it on to my grandmother. However, I have heard from a Lawyer in Poland that somehow when my grandmother turned 18 in 1950, since it was prior to the 1951 Act, that she lost the Polish Citizenship at that time. I haven't been able to confirm this anywhere and it really is quite frustrating how none specific the regulation regarding obtaining Polish citizenship via ancestry are. Anyone have any info that might help me?

Talk to the Polish Consulate ( in your area) about the matter and see what are your chances to obtain the citizenship.
