I am actually pissed off with requests like this. Why anyone would ever consider helping you if (1) you do not want to help yourself by disclosing all possible data in your possession (2) you do not provide reasons for anyone to help you in your quest.

What is your (or your family) ethnic background and history and what is your reason for the enquiry? Are you interested in Jewish, German, Polish background? What kind of social background is to be investigated: a burgher, a peasant, a noble? This would help to identify certain historical issues. Do you expect us to perform miracles for you just ... because you asked? Oh, yes, imagine if I asked you to help me in return to find anything you can about a certain Jan Kowalski in New York ...

But if you do not want to bother with the suggestions I outlined - just type "Zalno" in Google, and I am sure you will get some answers - which obviously you will need to sort later on.

JEDNORALSKI: Dialectal form of archaic jeneralski (currently generalski); most likely a patronymic tag to identify the general's son. Not a very common name so tracking down relatives should not be that difficult.

I am not sure what your problem is.
I have Google Zalno, and I can not find anything.
My great grandfather was exiled from Zalno area in 1884 by the Germans.
He and his father were land owners in the area.
Possibly three or more sons were killed by the Germans.

Since I do not live in New York, I do not have access to that data on Jim Kowalski. Have you tried Ancestry.com?

Do you like in or around Zalno?
I gave the administrator more information.

That was meant as a joke - searching for Jan Kowalski in New York would be like searching for a needle in a haystack. I was trying to explain to you that every detail counts in such searches.

The correct spelling of that place is Żalno (with the dot above). English version of wikipedia shows very little here
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Żalno

However, the polish one provides quite extensive info: pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Żalno

You did not provide any geographical information, but since it is in North-West Poland, formerly in Prussian partition, this could be the one.

With the help of Edward and Jan Jednoralski, and a Polish researcher, I have tracted the Jednoralski family back to the 1750's in Zalno, Poland, and Jacobus Jednoralski. I believe all the present Jednoralski's in Poland can be tracted to Jacobus's first wife. My great grandfather can be tracted to Jacobus's second wife. I am wondering why my great grandfather was exiled from the area by the Germans.

My great grandfather, Tomasz Jednoralski, b. 1839, in Zalno, Poland.
His grandfather was Jacobus Jednoralski, 1756-1826, Zalno, Poland
Probably all Jednoralski's in Poland now can be tracted to Jacobus's first wife, Barbara ?
My great grandfather's line came from Jacobus's second wife, Eva Ratzova.
Jacobus's third wife, Marianna Jaworska, appears to have had no children.

Thank you for the links. They gave me more information.

Merged: 'old' Polish Estates'

The Jednoralski's were in the Żalno, Poland from at least 1758 thru 1839.
My Great Great Grandfather, Josef Jednoralski, and my Great Grandfather, Tomasz Jednoralski, Sr., moved from Żalno to Maly Medromierz, some time between 1819 and 1867.
I believe Żalno is in Pomeranian Voivordeship, Chojnice County, Gmina Chojnice; and
Maly Medromierz is in Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivordeship, Tuchila County, Gmina Tuchola.
Tomasz Jednoralski, Sr, left Maly Medromierz, Poland in 1884, for the USA.
Josef Jednoralski died 6 Jan 1885, in Maly Medromierz.

Jednoralski means 'the General's Son'. Who was the General?

Family says that Josef or Tomasz, Sr. had seven estates in Poland.

The Polish Museum of America Library says, 'The Polish Government has been restoring title to lands that were nationalized..'
As the German Empire moved into Poland in the Partitions, they nationalized the Polish land.

Why would the Germans have killed Salomea Klossowska, Antonia Jednoralski, and Marianna Catharina Jednoralski in Poland; and
followed Tomasz, Sr., to the USA and killed Johann Jednoralski, Josef Jednoralski, Tomasz, Jr (unsolved murder in the Chicago, IL, area),
Florence (1) Jednoralski, and Jerry Frank Jednoralski in the USA.

Are there lands that the Polish Government would restore title to in the Żalno and Maly Medromierz areas?
What Polish Government office should be contacted?

Correction: Josef and Tomasz, Sr. moved between 1839 and 1867, not 1819.

Jednoralski means 'the General's Son'.

I think that would be Jeneralski.

Second Correction: Żalno is in Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship Tuchola Powiat Gmina Kęsowo
