Yes, I definitely have the polish eyes.....I was reading where the Mongols came into Poland a gazillion years ago. I never knew that. My father has the heavy eye lids, causing his eyes to look asian when he smiles.

Interesting thread. I can usually tell someone of eastern european or russian descent. I know I look different but whenever I am in Poland I always think of how I don't look like most Polish women. For starters I don't have the long thin legs that everyone here is talking about- short legs for me! I have brown hair, blue almond shaped eyes and almost yellow (?) skin! Also, I didn't get blessed with the Polish thin gene.
oh well, I think I was made to work in the fields plowing and harvesting. lol

my grandma has yellowish skin & shes czech but i think shes part something else like tatar cuz i saw a picture of a old tatar lady & she looked like a fat version of my grandma but my grandma might also be part jewish because she kinda looks like anne frank & its more realistic lol i found a picture of a lady i think is my other grandma who died before i was born it looks like she has the same kinda eyes as you & she was part polish

well - i got to say that the bulgarians are completely different than the east-europeans. they are mixture between slavic, thracian, roman, persian.

I am a first generation pole in America and although many members of my family have light hair and eyes, I tend to look very eurasian with my almond eyes. I'm not sure if it depends on what part of region of Poland you are from because Poland has a rich history of a mixture of other nationalities. From around eastern Europe. What I find more common in Polish Women is their facial structure rather than hair and eye color. For example many of the Polish women I know have a heart shaped face, very high and prominent cheek bones, and slightly almond shaped eyes.

I am half Polish and I have naturally very curly light brown hair, deep olive green eyes, and a very full lower lip (not so much the upper lip)..... does any of that sound like Polish features ????

Usually when people I meet find out my ancestory.... they say that they can definitly see the Polish more prominently and the African Am. and Irish features are very subtle. I wish I could upload a picture of myself, but I cant cuz they are the wrong size or something!!!

OMG! i look almost like you kinda! but my hair is dark & has a slight wave when i dont brush it when its wet, i have practicly no upper lip & my eyes are greenish hazelish That's funny, because I recognize myself in these descriptions as well. I have a fuller lower lip and almost no upper lip, except when I smile.

Yeah, but I don't know anymore. I have been trying to do research on my roots, but I really don't know where it is taking me. My maternal (Polish) grandmother's name: Kapushka, from somewhere near the Carpathian Mountains. My maternal grandfather's name was Bartok (Hungarian). I am speculating that the maternal grandmother could have been from what is now the Ukraine, based on her Russian last name, and how she looked (small, dark hair, small face with high cheekbones, small, deep set eyes, that I think were dark or light, or light brown (can't tell from the photo). I am speculating that maybe she was a Boyko Goral or Rusyn, but I don't know. If anyone has information on the name Kapushka in 19th Century Trans-Carpathians, it would be appreciated. I'm adopted, which is why this is like finding missing pieces of a jigsaw puzzle for me.

Generally I'd say Polish people have that Eastern look that to any outsider looks very similar and looks "Eastern European" for example (Bulgarians, Polaks, Hrvats, Russians etc). People who are in this group of people I think can distinguish fairly well who is who, with that being said I think we do share the look with these other Slavs sometimes it's very noticeable sometimes it's not. Also people saying Poles are blonde pale etc, i've said this numerous times from all of the Poles I know the general haircolour is brown with the few occasions of black (very dark) and blonde (very light).

i was a curly blonde and blue eyed cutie when i was little but my hair got darker as i got older, my eyes are also more green than they are blue. my sisters have more sharp features, their skin and hair are also darker. there's a big variety among Poles but yeah we can recognise each other in the crowd, i know when i see a Polish person before i hear them speak. it's hard to explain, probably a mixture of facial features, clothes and hair.

What nationality do I appear to be? I'm about 60% Polish and the rest of me is German, Sicilian, English, Danish, French, and a bit of Irish. And if it helps, my dad is about 75% Polish, his dad was 100% Polish, his mom was 50% Polish and 25/25 British/Danish. My mom is about 40% Polish, her dad his half Polish (mother) and half Sicilian (his father was born in Sicily) and my mom's mother is about 25% German, 30% Polish, some French, some English, and a small bit of Irish.

I've been told I look like so many things and I just want to know since some of ya'll really sound like you know your stuff. :)

Okay, I have some more. Sorry they're not great. I only have my myspace pictures on my computer. Or me riding my horse, lol. I'm not very photogenic though. xD I'm not a fan of having my picture taken, let alone posting myspace pictures.

And here are the actual links from above posted. I most commonly hear I look French, British, or Polish. I've heard Russian too, which I really don't see. :p My parents think I look Eastern European/exotic. I have large eyes and high cheek bones, they're just not prominent. My natural hair color is a dirty blonde/light brown. My eyes change from light brown to hazel. I look A LOT like my dad, who looks like his dad, who was 100% Polish. But most Polish people I've seen of more "roundish" faces and mine is more long. I don't know though... I'm such a mutt!

I'm on the left, my friend is in the middle, and my boyfriend is on the right. It was funny for Halloween since my boyfriend was born in Russia & I dressed as a Russian girl, but he dressed as the Joker. :)

It's weird though. I have almost the same face shape as my dad (more elongated) and he's 75% Polish. But he is also 12.5% English & 12.5% Danish, so that probably explains it. Plus, my mom does have that small bit of English in her as well..

I have my mom's large eyes though. :D

But really, thank you for the replies! I've always been curious, especially because everyone tells me something different. I typically always hear either Polish, English, or French... sometimes Russian. Some random kids at my school think I'm Russian just because I'm dating a Russian immigrant. People are odd hahah.
