I am trying to find out about both my fathers roots and also my mothers. My father michal Hudziak was born in Lvov in 1909 and my mother Zofia Mazurek I think was born in Katowicze in 1922. If anyone can help I would be most grateful

I think you will need to have a bit more information in order to really make progress. Do you have any documentation such as birth certificates? Since you are in Scotland did they become naturalised UK citizens? Information such as their parents and addresses will be on these documents which will help locating information about them.

My grand aunt married a Mazurek but their children were born in Sawchyn.

Hi! I don't know if you are still looking for info on Hudziak family but I am a Hudziak in the US. My Great, great Grandpa Michael came from Poland to the US and settled in Wisconsin. I have a little info of our family in the US.

I know of a family named Mazurek who used to live in my neighborhood in Claremont, CA. over 20 years ago. Recently, they moved to the Palm Springs area.

I have relations in North Chicago, Illinois, USA, who were Hudziaks. They were Jan and Mary and they had a daughter named Frances. If anyone can help me let me know. Frances was born 10/10/1896 and I do have the years of birth and death for Jan and Mary too.

The proper spelling of Hudziak is Chudziak and originated as a patronymic nick
meaning the son of chudy (the thin bloke's son).

I helped my friend do her family tree and Mazurek was part of them. Apparently the family came here from Poland and part of them went to Brazil another stayed in the Chicago area. She lives in North Judson, Ind. She does not do computer but you can write her if you are interested.

My maiden name is Hudziak, my father was born in Wisł±, one of seven brothers, no sisters and during the war my grandmother moved to Koniakow. There are lots of descendents living in this region and around Istebna. I know that my grandfather's name was Adolf Hudziak and that my grandmother's name was Franciszek, I am not sure of her maiden name. My father is the only son of 7 still living he is 87 and lives in London. He still visits poland regularly each summer to visit relatives. I am in contact with cousins living in Ireland as one of my uncles settled in Ireland following the war.

does your father still have Marriage cert? this might show your grandmothers maiden name.

if he is still in contact with family, they would be your best source of information, get the church
address and write to them and make donation to ask for your family line. give details so they
can match your family , because there will be duplicate surnames and given names. :)

for your grandmothers side, without the maiden name it would be hard to find anything.
you could ask your father what old documents he might have that you can look through
and pictures. maybe old letters, anything helps :)

Hi,
i DID A GOOGLE SEARCH ON ZIELONY FAMILY FROM LVOV AND I ENDED UP CONECTING TO YOUR SITE - I AM NOT SURE IF WE ARE SOMEHOW RELATED. MY FATHER WAS MARJAN ZIELONY AND HE HAD A HALF BROTHER CALLED STEPHEN. HIS MOTHER WAS KATERENNA PATERUCHA ( UNSURE OF SPELLINGS.). I THERE WAS ALSO A LINK FOR ZOFIA ZIELONY AND IF THIS IS THE CORRECT RELATIVE, IF SHE IS DEAD, SHE IS BURED IN POLAND WITH SOME OF MY RELATIVES. HAPPY TO LET YOU KNOW FURTHER DETAILS IF ANY OF THIS MAKES SSENCE.
MARION
