iI HAVE FOUND OUT FROM A PROFESSOR KAZIMIERZ RYMUT THE THE -EWICZ PART OF THIS NAME MEANS SON OF, SO THEREFORE MEANS SON OF SACHAR. AND THE NAME SACHAR CAME FROM THE NOUN "sugar" SO THE NAME MEANS SON OF SACHAR, AND PROBALY BECAME DEVELOPED AS A NICK NAME KIND OF LIKE CALLING SOME ONE "sugar"

IT IS TAKEN FROM A BOOK TITLED NAZWISKA POLAKOW ( THE SURNAMES OF POLES)

CAN I ASK WERE YOU GOT It's the other way around. "Sacharewicz" is from "Zacharewicz", because "sacharewicz" comes from "sacharyna" and the "Sachara Desert". PLEASE

Sacharyna means sugar, which would make sense.

Hi,
Your grandfather and my mother were brother and sister. You must be the daughter of one of his and his wife Catherine children.
My name is Lidia, I live in Holland in Amsterdam for many years.
Years ago, when I was at school I've written some letters to your grandmother Catherine
and I saw your grandfather once when hi came to visit his old mum.
I can tell you a lot about your polish roots. I knew, I've cousins in United Kingdom, but
I never had contact with them and I wasn't searching.
Anyway: I'm very glad I've found your letter on the internet.
This is my email address: lidiateresa@hotmail.com and my tel number +31206946022
Unfortunately I don't speak/write english very well, but my daughter Natalia, who also
lives in Holland speaks/ writes very well.
I hope I hear from you
Lidia

Hi, my name is Roman Sacharewicz, I am the eldest son of Edward Sacharewicz. I too have been tracking relatives in Poland, you have surprised me to say the least. I would like to know a little bit more about you. My father was born 8th August 1916 in Lublin. He joined the Polish army before the war and was transported to Russia but escaped and fled to what was then Pursia today Iraq and joined the British army. He has been gone since 1984. There is one brother and one sister living in UK.

SACHAREWICZ: comes from Jewish biblical name Issachar, often rendered in easern Slavdom as Сахар (Polish transliteration: Sachar). The -wicz is a patronymic ending so Sacharewicz = Zachary's son.
