Hello everyone

My name is Michael and I am new to the forum. I am a 36 year old American male that lives in Michigan and I am part Polish so I thought I would like to know a little more about my roots : )

Anyway I hope everyone is doing well and I look forward to learning more and speaking with everyone.

Have a great day - Mike

Sign above door. 'Relinqvite omnem spem, vos qvi intratis.' Or something like that.
Have a great day yourself, and welcome.

Oh..or upss?? :) I thought it's somehow related to "snow", sorry :) It happens when someone (like me) pretend to be smart, hehe ;)

ŚNIEŻYK: the diminutive of śnieg (snow) so it could mean light snow, small snowfall or something along those lines. Could have originated as a topopnymic tag for someone from Śnieżnica in Małopolska.

We are having a little śnieżyk here in Podlasie right now. The first of the season. Much later than the last several years.

Related: Sniezek Family

I am searching for the birth record for Andczy SNIEZEK, born 26 Nov 1867 very possibly Katowice.
Can anyone supply an archive that might have this record. Have mother's first name as Marcelia, none for his father.
All help appreciated.

ŚNIEŻEK: root-word śnieg (snow); possibly topo nick from Śnieżki or Śnieżkowice

Hi
My great grandfathers name was Sniezyk. He came to Montreal in the 1890s. Meet him when when I was very young. He passed away when I was five in 1966
