I have posted before, but the sites suggested havent helped.

I am looking for information on my grandfather his name is Szymon (simon) Moshe Apfelbaum, he left Tarnow Poland before WW2 in Poland broke out. He left his Family and as we know it is the only survivour of his immediate family. He had 4 other siblings Herschel, Sara, Hanina and Chaya.

I wanted to know if anyone knows of what happened to his Family, how to find records of what happened to him and informaiton in Tarnow.

Thanks

I have recently returned from a visit in Krakow and Tarnow and have found some records are also kept in the Gmina (Council offices) For Tarnow you would need:-

Urząd Gminy Tarnów
ul. Krakowska 19
33-100 Tarnów
tel: 014 688 01 01 fax: 014 688 01 03/30
e-mail: urzad@gmina.tarnow.pl

There are costs involved in having certificates issued (22 zloty), but you would need to prove you are related first.
