The males from my polish side of the family were 5'8" to 5'10" ..... My mother is of Dutch ancestory, so I guess I got my height from that side of the family

I'm 6'2" 190lbs... My brother is the same height, but weighs a fit 210lbs...

it has to do with uniqueness and superiority, kaka, a bit like driving on the left-hand side, which is actually the right-side... but dont be confused... :)

To convert kg into pounds you would multiply by 2.2. Example: 50 kg x 2.2= 110 lbs.
Krysia, who weighs 120 lbs would be 54.5 kg (120 lbs divided by 2.2= 54.5kg).

it has to do with uniqueness and superiority

:) :)

Good site for conversions:

why you dont use kilograms and centemeters?

because most people wouldn't know what you're talking about.
The same with temperature. We use Farenheit. Nobody uses Celsius.

Such questions create even more silly stereotypes about Poles in general. How can one answer such a general question like "are Poles tall?". How would one answer the question "Are Poles fat"? It's all subjective opinion and the answer should be: "It depends - some of them are, some are not."

It's objective actually because height can be measured. First you measure the height of all 39 million Poles and then all we need is a height to compare to and we can determine if tallness is common in Poles. Simple.

You're getting a little ahead of yourself there, buddy... They first need to determine how many of the 39million Poles are actually 100% genetically Polish. That may be a little harder to determine. I suggest starting by first having a beer :)

my mother's side of the family tends to be average height around 6 feet tall, but my father's side is huge. Most of the guys are around the 6'4 - 6'7 range and are built like oxes. My smallest uncle weighs 205lbs. (srry dunno how to convert to Kilos) and my father being the oldest is past his prime. His most massive...well...mass was during the army in Poland where he was 6'6 and 230lbs. he's shrinking now, haha oldy, and losing some weight.

but then look at Mariusz Pudzionawski - all Poles have heard of him- he is 5'9 and 300lbs. Now thats a meaty ox. What animal would he be? A friggen rhino i guess.

Im female and Irish, 5 8 and most of my family seem to get taler with each generation...I dont think it has anything to do with nationality, its all down to genetics..and how each family progreses....IMHO

suggest you go to Ireland and try the food, I dont have time to waste on writing every dish that is served.

Ok, I'm 5.9 ft. Is that high or small according to English standards?

For a woman of my height, I would consider this short, but I suppose if you ask a women who is only 5ft then she will say tall, it all depends really. People like different attributes so there is no real answer to this question.

phhhf, i dunno about this claim.

Though im reminded of one day in college i was with three mates and we were standing in the students union - im 5'10 and i was DWARFED by these guys!! (all Irish but def ABOVE average height)

I dont think its so easy to attach this claim to one european country?

My God, and I always considered myself average height...

Sorry :( But average for a man I would say is 5 10 to 6ft, that extra inch is so important when I have 4 inch heels on :) women like tall men, I think they like to have that sence of being looked after, protected etc, we all like different things and see things in different ways, I just couldn't see myself with a man that was shorter than me. :)

I'm 183 cm (6 ft ?) It is pretty much normal here, average height is neither tall nor short compared to other Europeans, but I think It's more diversified, many people much shorter and much taller than average.

.

Post your picture, we will check out If we could wear heels for you...

Just over 6ft, a good height for a man :) Like you say it all depends Im 172 but I have friends that are much shorter and much taller

Hmmm I dont think Im looking for a man to wear heels for me, that's not really the kind of man I would go for :)

What? He's 183 cm and he has a good height for a man, and I with my 181 cm am a short repellent and weak midget! How cruel! :( :)

Would you at least consider to wear one inch smaller heels for me? I'm maybe short by at least broad and I use my small legs like a bloody Baryshnikov! Even wear the same tights! :)

Matyjas!!

What?! :)

Sorry But average for a man I would say is 5 10 to 6ft

Seriously? I can't believe how tall people are over there. Even Matyjasz who is considered short in Poland is considered tall here in the US, at least in Los Angeles. I guess it's because there are many people here from Mexico and other Latin American countries and also many Asians (especially in my neighborhood) and most of them are not very tall. But even the Polish people here are not very tall.

As for me, I'm a midget compared to all of you. I'm 5 ft. 2 inches. I don't know how to convert to cm but I used an online converter and it says it's 157.48 cm. It's 62 inches total.
