Last Sunday I was asked at the last minute to photograph my Polish friends wedding as there was some unexpected issue with her official guy. Normally I always refuse to be the 'official' snapper as I'd be mortified about ruining someones day but she was desperate and so I couldn't fail to do my best for her.

Turns out it went smoothly and she and her husband were very happy. I've been putting the album together to give to her on Monday and I wanted to add a few words as a preface, but I want them to be translated into Polish.

Can anyone help ? What I wanted to say was this:

*******

Izzy,

I just wanted to say thank you for allowing me to share your special day with you. Scary as it was for me given the responsibility suddenly placed on my shoulders, there was no way that I could fail to come to your aid when your plans changed as you know how I am for helping others ! The day was beautiful, as were you and not only was it wonderful to see two people so obviously made for each other, as you and Ashley are, come together to commit to share your futures but it gave me a chance to return a favour I owed.

You were there for me at some very lonely moments this past year when it seemed that so very few people were and I wanted to thank you for that. I know it may have seemed that I wasn't listening to what you said but I was, I really was and it did mean a lot to me but I had to fight for that someone who is still very special to me

It was heartwarming to witness that true love really does still exist in this world still as it's so clearly does between you and Ashley, even if I have learned to accept again that it's not meant for me. I am here to make other people happy and I hope the memories I have captured for you do just that. May you both be as happy and contented as you so clearly are forever more. Thank you for being my friend.

*******

If anyone can help with a genuine translation I would be really, really grateful.

Also could you confirm that this is traditional Polish greeting is correct ? I found it on the web:

"Zycze Wam wszystkiego najlepszego na nowej drodze zycia. Zdrowia, szczescia i zgody malzenskiej."

"I wish you all of the best on your new road through life. Health, happiness and marital harmony."

Thanks in advance.

David

Bump! (where is Krysia when you need her! :D )

By the way, if your mate married somone called "Ashley" surely she can speak English?

Please dont take this the wrong way, but it sounds like you have the hots for this girl and that's the only reason you want it in Polish so her now hubby cant read it...Do yourself a favour and move on.

Oh there's no worries there ! It's not like that at all. It's a very complicated situation involving others at my place of work which is why I want the message to be in Polish. There's nothing and has never been anything between her and I that way. I'm friends with her new husband too !

I really don't want to go into the details (some would say that's because I want to sell the film rights as it's so complicated !) but she and I are and always have been nothing but good friends.

Just hope someone can help me out. :o) Thanks for the bump.

Ok, I'm to tired now to continue. Maybe someone else will finish this.
