Hello there to you Poles, Please give your personal opinions & experiences about the Polish Language JUST in one sentence. (You may compare it with other Slavic languages, or speak about its difficulty frequency, or its advantages or disadvantages . . .) Then: The Polish language is ???

I just wanted to edit the post to put in English wording, and you made it impossible to me. Can you normally give 10 minutes break before you act? By the way, show your face in the respective thread, van Gogh ;-) The Polish language is... satanically difficult for a foreigner, and childishly easy for any Polish kid.

I could say "archdemonically" if you like. See this thread: Polish was chosen the HARDEST LANGUAGE in the world to learn... :D

Polish is extremely easy for Polish children, at least to understand and speak, and the kids can even learn reading and writing quickly.

Polish is basically a snap phonetically speaking, at least it was for me! Compared with the pronunciation of Russian, Polish cannot even begin to compare! Polish is a 'see -and-say' language; ONE sound for ONE phoneme or consonant cluster (compared with the nightmare of English). Those palatalized consonants in Russian, as in 'imiet' (mieć), 'brat' (brać), 'dver' (drzwi) etc... remain as elusive to both my poor English tongue and ear as our long and short vowels remains for you guys ('shit' vs.'sheet' ad infinitum).....

The grammar part... well, it has its challenges. Then again, after German, Hungarian and Icelandic, I wasn't exactly floored any longer by morphological inconsistencies-:)

Myjustyna, question: Robert Lee wrote untrue statement. I correct that statement: Polish is not in slightest way similar to Czech from various historical reasons that I could elaborate:

1. Will you prefer including false statement of Robert in your work?
OR
2. Will my statement help you more?

Antek, I must kindly beg to differ! As a linguist, I tend to eschew terms such as "beautiful"/"pleasing", "difficult", "easy", "similar" etc. as they are much too vague. In fact, the base vocabulary of Czech bares a marked similarity to Polish, far moreso than, say, Polish with Russian, Croatian, or Bulgarian, for example. While Ukrainian comes perhaps closest structurally, it's vocabulary and pronunciation remain far closer to Russian! Everyday Polish words "dzień", "tydzień", the months of the year as well as the seasons, have a remarkably close correspondence to Czech words.

Antek, I never meant that your correcting an untrue statement wasn't appreciable. It is surely necessary to learn, and to learn true and correct things. And if you hadn't referred to it, I would have believed it. However, whatever I learn here, I will study through other resources. Again, I thank you for your replies and I am sure they are honest. Moreover, I didn't directed that to you. I just asked everybody to focus on the question more that anything else.
