Hi.

I am having a bit of an affair with a polish girl at work and she has sent me this sentance to translate!!

Jestes moim najlepszym kumlpem I ciesze sie ze cie mam..!!3maj sie caluski

I think the first bit is your my best friend.......and the last bit is about kissing!! Can someone help translate it properly??

I wonder if the 3 is a mistype!

Cheers xx

The 3 is not a mistype. It means trzy, as in trzymaj się (take care). Much like we write, C u l8r or this is 4 u 2.

Kumplem, not kumlpem. I'm glad I have you is the bit you missed. Otherwise, you are spot on! Buziaki or całuski just mean kisses :)

Not a mistype. In English you can also write 4you. 3maj means trzymaj, that is trzymaj się, which can be translated as take care.

So the whole translation of Jestes moim najlepszym kumlpem I ciesze sie ze cie mam..!!3maj sie caluski would be:

You are my best friend and I am so glad that you are mine..!! Take care. Kisses.

Nawzajem is sth like 'likewise' or to explain that the feeling is mutual. Zajemny is also possible. So, if sb wishes you sth and you say 'nawzajem', it means the same 2 u :)

My polish girly told me that she likes being called froggie....is she being silly or or this common?

In Polish you should call her moja (droga) żabciu.

It's not common but maybe it's due to her name, Żabka :) I know quite a few diminuitives but the one of frog? Hmm....żabeczka?

Lepiej żabka niz rapucha (better frog than toad)

I would write Jestes moim najlepszym lumpem but I think Seanus's is better.

Kumpel is a buddy, pal, mate, so I hope this is not that killer 'Let's just be friends.' :)

Ah, but there are friends with benefits, 1jola :) :)

Jestes moim najlepszym lumpem

Out of this context, lump probably isn't in the Silver-Tongued Charmers' Handbook. A genuine tongue-in-cheek idiom, czy może nam odbierzesz Michała?

Thanks for your concern 1jola......I have had further messages and I am pretty sure she's cool....... Just trying to show her I'm a clever guy who can chat to her in her language!! Failing miserably at the moment but her english is sooo good!

Silver tongued charmers handbook!!! probably shafted that by putting messages on boards asking...basically...how to get into her knickers! LOL

If you have a belly, you can always tell her, 'kto nie ma brzucha, kiepsko rucha'. 'They who don't have a belly, fu*k badly' :) :)

There is a t-shirt here that I really should have bought on the spot. It contained that message. I was a bit bigger then but have slimmed down. Or the 'I beat anorexia' one, LOL
