Usage of Polish Verbs

Name a Polish verb you are unsure about how to use, then hopefully a kind Pole can write us a sentance or two using the verb (in polish and with english translation) to help us understand? I would say if you are at a basic level it may be worth you buying the 301 Polish Verbs book as well to help you also. Here is my first one:- wdawać się wdać się - to get into. Thanks, Kieron.

Rarely used, but, first expression that comes to mind is: wdawać się w dyskusję = to (heavily) get involved in a discussion

Easy, e.g.: Przyczynił się do sukcesu operacji (np. wojskowej) and as considers "wdawać się", here is another one: "wdawać się w sprzeczkę" - to get involved in a quarrel. :-)

wdawac sie - nie wdaje sie w dysksje ( i dont get involved into arguments) wdac sie w w ojca - he takes after his father

right, sush is right. wdać się w kogoś... is another great exmple, a quite different one from those previously mentioned

odbywać, odbyć - do, perform, carry out, take (a trip) this one looks odd to me, how is it different to wykonywac/wykonac? Again, a sentance or two would help. Thanks.

Wykonać zadanie. Wykonać pracę. Wykonywać ćwiczenia. Odbyć szkolenie. Odbyć stosunek płciowy ;-) . Odbyć rozmowę.

wykonać, it seems, involves effort while odbyć does not

Funny - except kie - everyone else in this thread declared the knowledge of Polish. :-) So how it is - one Pole teaching another one some Polish verbs? wykonać - Involve active pursue of the goal. odbyć - much more passive. Like "He happens to be black"

Hello. How about this one?:- wykraczać - exceed, go beyond is this related to distance or what? dzieki wielkie

No, it could be as in physically crossing a border multiple times. Wykrocić is to cross it once I believe. I guess it could be spiritual too in that you cross boundary lines. I'm not Polish but I'm quite sure I'm correct. I just need it confirmed.

Przekraczać - to cross (e.g. the border) (to be in the act (właśnie przekraczam granicę w Cieszynie) or to cross many times (często przekraczam wschodnią granicę Polski)
Przekroczyć - to cross once (Józek przekroczył niemiecką granicę dwa dni temu)

Wykraczać (poza) - to go beyond / exceed (e.g. the limit) "wykraczać poza sferę dobrych obyczajów" - "to go beyond the limits of good manners" = to be ill-mannered
Wykroczyć is theoretically possible, but sounds weird and I cannot think of any actual usage.
