Jak robi wy piszecie na maszynie listy? Przykład: ł, ę, ć, ź, ń, ż, ś, ó, ł, ą, ?
Obviously I’m having to switch my keyboard settings from one setting to another. But, I’d like to know if there are any “Alt-Codes” for typing Polish alphabetical letters directly from codes… Example: While holding down “(L) Alt” key and entering “0109” to produce symbols.
To explain more simply, How in the world do you type letters?

It's actually quite simple. If you have MS Word follow these steps:

1. From the menu select: Insert, then Symbol...
2. In the Font tab select: (Normal text...)
3. You will find all Polish letters there.
4. Select/highlight one of the letters and press on the "Shortcut Key..." button.
5. Choose a new shortcut key (for example for the letter ó press: Ctrl+Alt+o).
6. Follow steps 4-5 until you assigned all Polish letters.

Cheers,

If you have Microsoft Windows XP (this might work on older versions of Windows too, I'm not sure), you can set it so that you can switch keyboard settings by just hitting Alt+Shift, it seems like this would be faster than using "Alt Codes."

you'll have to edit your keyboard settings to polish on your windows toolbar first. (the keyboard icon.) you can switch the button next to that one from to polish to english or any other language with one click.

it's ctrl + alt for me though? just trying to help out.

A tool called Mophy Accents (search for it on Google) can help you type Polish letters.

Once downloaded you can type letters like ą ę ł ż ź ó etc by pressing the Right Alt key and the normal letter on your keyboard (so Right Alt + a for ą ).

It is really simple to use.

Go to Control Panel...
- Regional and Language Options
- tab Languages
- click Details
- click on Add
- Add Polish with keyboard layout Polish (programmers)
- the language bar will now at least appear either as bar or in your Tray, if not select it in the same place in the language bar settings.

And then it should work. Alt + l gives ł etc. Be aware alt + z = ż; alt + x = ź

telefonitika,
Assuming you work with Windows XP:
1. Control Panel
2. date, Time, language and Regional..
3. add other languages
4. details
5. key settings - choose Polish (Programmers)
6. add - it should put the icon in your task bar
7. click Language bar next to key settings to see if the adding of the icon to the task bar is checked.

It should work. Then type as usual. When you come to a letter that you want it to have a little "thingy" press Alt and your regular font.

I see I missed one thingy that caused some confusion...
It's the Right-Alt that you should click, or indeed Ctrl and Alt together.
But only the left-Alt does not work... sorry!

I just changed the language in my PC settings. It ebnds up in the bottom left of the screen...you can either select ENG or PL, but you still have to ctrl+alt to enter character.
ctrl+alt+a=ą but you don't have to paste any special characters. So, its a lot quicker.

There's some way to change that. Besides Poles can understand what that means even without Polish letters.

Go to> Tools> Internet Options> >Languages > Add > Select Polish [pl] >OK.

It will appear next to your icon tray..lower right..your right. You can select PL but the characters are made by pressing Ctrl + Alt + desired character.
