German Deaf/Mute able to give voices to Hitler's personal videos...scary

I watched it on the history channel. The gentleman is brilliant, and able to use his Artificial Intelligence lip reading computer program up to 160 degrees!

They used the same type of camera, and filmed a cambridge professor, from different angles first, to make sure the system worked; it read everything he said impeccably.

When applied to Hitler, you got a very scary look inside Hitler's mind. This monster seemed so normal, told Ava that they'd watch, "Gone with the Wind" that night. He studied himself giving speeches, to better prepare himself to sway people. You could actually see him step into the larger than life Hitler, just before he gave a speech.

What was so scary? That evil can reside in such an apparent mild mannered, normal acting human - that is what! I expected him to be crazy behind the scenes, and he was NOT. You even got to hear him through an excellent voice actor, cutting down his second in commands with jokes.

The face of Evil is your every day human, until he's up on a pedestal. THAT was bone chilling.

Julie, ever wondered why the most grotesque serial killers from history looked and acted in normal life like such gentle and kind persons? Well, Hitler is the example of what happens when a psychopathic serial killer comes to power...Nothing new, actually.

But he didn't instigate the invention of Fanta until the US joined WWII. Probably.

Why do you say Carol is living in the past?? That is RUDE!

She is strong, and making sure that ALL of our ancestors are remembered!! 18 million people lost their lives between these two dictators, and all need to be accounted for. Why the HELL DO YOU WANT TO FORGET THOSE PEOPLE!?

Carol didn't make the videos - others did; others compiled them with music; people strongly feel that though we are going forward, we must NEVER FORGET!

18 million are our families, friends, neighbors, aunts, uncles...they should not be forgotten, buried under despicable conditions, starved, shot, raped, and who knows what else.

These were crimes against HUMANITY - and you want her to FORGET??

HISTORY repeats itself, if you FORGET!! We must take all the crimes to our hearts, and acknowledge they happened, and NOT BURY THEM.

Which part of this message are you just not getting!? WE are their future, their legacy - and you want us to forget them??

NEVER FORGET, always remember - and live on, honoring those who paid in BLOOD.

No, my comment was not meant to be rude, rather it was just that, a "comment." I know, Julie. We must never forget, but we must also try to move on, (while learning from the past) Celinski seems to have one interest in life, and that is WW1 and 2, and the atrocities commited within that time frame, and through communism. This is not healthy to live like this. Humans cannot take that stress and constant thinking of what could be.. all you do is raise your blood pressure and put yourself at risk of illness.

I myself will never forget, or forgive what the Russians and Germans did, but I have Polish-Russo-and German issues on the backburner in my life.. not as a priority.

Who did Hitler personally kill (apart from himself)? Im sure it is easier to order a killing rather than pull the trigger yourself and as such i do not think he was as you have described. Im not defending him in any way but he cannot be compared to the likes of Charles Manson.

Thank you Julie. And as for you my pretty Filios1, I think you are right, it's time to move on and remind everyone of the past, make sure we "never forget" and put our loved ones in the proper place in history. As Julie says, "History repeats itself". A smart man once said, " the only stupid question is the one left not questioned"? Leave no stone unturned as this will be the one with the answer.

Besides I think the song is beautiful.

Yes, exactly. You know, it is not healthy for you to be so wrapped up in these usually disturbing facts..

I added a clip above, with music perhaps more scary with the film clips, as it goes rather well with them.

I think that we all are going forward, but we must remember history, and always question, question, question!

It doesn't matter if Hitler personally killed or not; he contributed to the deaths of 18 million PEOPLE, 'nuff said!!

Who says she's wrapped up in these disturbing facts, btw? She's a living REMINDER, as AM I.
I suppose, we are playing our parts as 'Speakers of the Dead'. There is no shame whatsoever for that, nor anything disturbing. Just HONOR.

These are the videos that I question? Whats the point of them, to have nightmares later? There is no information, just pictures, and Satan's music... You need to be a bit sick to watch a whole video like that. I have too much family history tied up in POW and concentration camps to watch that.

Yes, this is good, so that we can find answers moving on.. but these are usually disturbing facts that are turned over under these rocks.. I am not saying that ignorance is bliss, but rather, we must begin to slowly move on without opening new wounds..
Trust me, I would do anything to go back to those years and to help the cause. But today, what more can we do?

Don't ignore the facts, don't sweep the past under the rug.

We HAVE been moving forward. But it has only been in my lifetime, that all the pieces of Katyn and the truth of how many lost their lives has been allowed to be spoken of.

Unfortunately, we aren't guilt free in this, either, just by living in America!

Tell our stories. Maybe you feel your is documented, my family is left out. Being Roman Catholic in eastern Poland has left our families "forgotten". Don't believe me, look up "Holocaust", how many do you see. Thank you for thinking of my well being. My home is filled with love, I saddle my horse and go for a ride and my thoughts are of positive. When I come in here I feel I have a responsability to my family to be the voice they were denied. You cannot silence me as "Stalin" silenced Poland. My family were in the camps you speak of. My father cannot speak because it hurts and I know of his nightmares. I speak for him and all the people I have come to know and love.

I watched the video above and think of my father, a young boy in Siberia concentration camp, when the snow fell and they were the real victims. You see it's all on our past as to how we can view this.

Filios, that's what I believe angers me; people want to quiet things down, because they feel they've seen enough. My half brother's wife had the audacity to ask me if what happened in Auschwitz was faked, because it seemed unlikely to have happened.

MANY teenagers today believe that the Holocaust NEVER happened, and was made up!!

I have been exposed to all of this since a child of 6 years old. Teacher I had when I was 9 years old was a Catholic Priest escapee from Communist Russia! It is just part of my life. I speak for those who cannot.

Carol and I have family that are Roman Catholic, and they were forgotten in this entire mess, because the focus of the Holocaust was on the Jews. Out of 18 million people, they accounted for 6 million. We are speaking up for the other forgotten 12 million who died, also in Kresy-Siberia concentration camps! Roman Catholic, Romanian, Gypsies, etc.!

We are both healthy minded and fine, but we have a MORAL OBLIGATION to stand up, and help the world to count the other 12 million!!

I couldn't have said it better myself. Go to the link below, this group of people are waiting for history to document and give their stories there place in history. I will continue to yell, scream, stomp my feet (if need be) until this is done.

Please don't compare me to some crazy witch woman who believes things like that. I am all for about learning about facts and educating the young, but when these horrifying things are pushed back and forth for the people who have already been exposed to these things, it makes for a very bad result..

JuliePotocka wrote:

My fathers family, was also Roman Catholic and quite well off, and many of them were officers in the cavalry who were either executed during the War in POW camps by the Nazis and Soviets, near the beginning of the war, and others were killed during the communist purges after the war for being in the Armja Krajowa. Please do not tell me that Roman Catholics are forgotten, for I have many members of my family which suffered as much as yours. My one great-uncle and surviving relatives are not the same. Nearly 75% of his family was wiped off the face of the earth during the 10 years between 1939 and 1949... I often wonder how it would be to meet some of these family members who I never had a chance to meet or see.

I am not trying to quiet things down, and you seem to have misunderstood me. I am all for to inform the public of these things professionaly, but do you really think that watching videos showing horrific images of walking skeletons in concentration camps, with some heavy metal music, and no information whatsoever, does the trick? Tact woman, tact. That is all I ask. If I had perished at one of these camps, I would surely not want these images of me in my last days being shown to teenage Canadian and American kids who couldn't give a damn about me...

I am sad about your father, but he is not alone in his suffering.. many others are out there...
Your welcome, and I am happy for you that you have a lot of free time to spend doing other things.. I have quite a tradition in horses in my family.. What types of horses do you manage and ride?

I have 1/4 horses, they do the barrels quit well and "Ant" I call snoopy, she loves to snoop through the woods and taste the leaves.

As I read on your family they were just like mine. Being the first gen. born in the USA I grew strong with Polish blood that was never silenced. My Dad never spoke of what the family left behind. This was his way of protecting my childhood dreams. In the USA where I live the "Holocaust" was a crime directed toward Jewish victims. I also never meet my Grandmother, two aunts and one uncle. Black and white pictures of them I treasure as I seach them for answers. My father was born on a field in Wolyn and went from a happy young boy to hell. Life as he knew it was never to be the same. Growing up in the USA I was in school where the children told me to go back to Poland, I didn't belong here. As a child born here I never fully understood what they were saying. Today I do understand but maybe it is my being between two countries that I hold onto both, protect both and love both.

hehe, how nice. I love horses as well. You are very lucky to have the proper area to ride.

Yes. I was shielded away for quite some time as well, until I began to inquire myself as a young boy of about 12-13 and finally learnt some facts and was stunned. Up until then, I never knew that the reason why I didn't have so many relatives left was because of executions and camps.. I had never really given it a thought.

You have a point. I have only been to the U.S once, but from films and documentaries, it seems the general public is ill informed about the real truths.

I'm happy for you that you love both. That is a gift from God that you have been blessed with living in a free and democratic country like America, but yet have your roots in a beautiful and culturally strong country like dear Polska : )

Filios - don't you want your family's story told, so they are counted and not forgotten?

I was in no way comparing you to that idiot of a 'relative' of mine, btw. She wishes to be ignorant, but her children have not been raised thus. This Aunt of theirs made sure they know. What I find odd is that the creature is blonde hair, blue eyed. Oh, they have since divorced, and good riddance.

Carol - I adore horses, and grew up with the knack of just knowing how to ride and jump them at age 7. Was a bit scary, but I never let a horse get the best of me, and always made fast friends with them.
