Nationalisim is a stupid concept. You cannot classify people by the country they live in.
The offspring of Nationalisim is Racisim.

Right, of course.

You mean because Germany is the world's number one heroin supplier?
Or did you mean because Afghanistan in the future will also be a financial centre, a leading car manufacturer and will soon challenge to become the world's third biggest economy.

Yep that'll be it. Phew glad we got that sorted.

I'm fascinated with Goethe, , Teutonic Knights, German expressionism in cinema, Prussian fortresses, Erwin Rommel, Kraftwerk and even those red brick factories but that's not enough to say that a truly love Germans. That's why I go for 0.

Both of my granparents were in Oswiecim, one of them was in the first transport to that place with 135 number! During the proccess they saved one kapo telling that if he would shoot them with the one bullet for every LEAF of bread they stolen for patiens (another my grandpa was a medic there)they could look like a sieve. My grandparents had a lot german friends later, my granpa was travelling in Germany to teach about war young german people. One of them said that his granpa was a officer in Oswiecim, but his is not proud of that anymore. I have also german friends, we remember about consequences of the war, but we try to repair old mistakes and be open to the new times.

That was a peaceful solution to prevent future wars, the same solutions made in Turkey and one of them was givin a Nobel Prize. They had to go out from Poland that is obvious, In Poland country there should be more Germans then Polish peoples, what are you talking about?

Of course you are from britain, but germany did not open jobs market for Poland, polish people have to go and get permission to work there, we can go to UK without permission, we can go to Sweden and Ireland but the rest of EU including Germany do not allow polish ppl to work in their countries.

Its like UK didnt open jobs marked for Romania and Bulgaria.

I'm with you mate. Deutschland did keep their labour market closed to the 2004 accession countries, that does not however equate to poles are illegal aliens in Deutschland. Ola's trying to make it sound a lot worse than it actually was.

The new situation basically comes down to a system comparable to the current situation whereby people from the future Member States need to get a work permit to work in the EU. At the same time a ‘preference rule’ is put in place, which gives citizens of the new Member States priority over people from non-EU countries. The regulations for self-employed are less restrictive – people will be completely free to deliver services across the border as a self-employed or as a company.

With regard to the permit situation, for the first two years after accession, the current Member States will admit employees from the future Member States under their own national rules, rather than under Community rules on free movement. After these first two years, the situation will be evaluated, but it is only after seven years that Member States are no longer allowed to require work permits.

Thats interesting to know....I wasn't aware......I assumed if a country was part of the EU its people could go freely to other countries of the union and work. Thanks for the info.

My twopenny worth on the German position.

Germany

Like Austria, Germany has insisted on continuing restrictions on workers from the former communist states, beyond its eastern borders. Workers from these countries will have to apply for work permits until at least 2009. However, the country issued 500,000 of these permits between 2004 and 2006. "In practice Germany has given as many people work as other big countries," EU Employment Commissioner Vladimir Spidla said on 2 May 2006. Germany has also imposed restrictions on workers from Bulgaria and Romania.

Hmm, I'm not the biggest Roman Giertych's supporter, but calling him a nazi isn't... let's say a very fortunate thing to do.

Russians quoted as saying their current enemies are Poland and Lithuania........EU may only be a temporoary entity...so you'd be surprised....!

Id retort and call your view pessimistic.
And your quote is out of context. Russia did not say lithuania and Poland is Russia's enemy in WWII, Armageddon context at all! and Russia is not about to 'MARCH ON WARSAW!' so id add sensationalism to your post

Daffy, it doesn't mean that a military conflict will take place. Russian have different ways to tackle their problems these days, namely through gas supply to Europe! Whenever they don't like some actions made by their neighbors, they just simply refer to blackmail. Russian government wants to be treated serious. They miss the glorious days of CCCP, and when Poland joined first NATO and then EU it was like a slap on a cheek for them. A territory that they treated as their rightful area of influence since the end of the 18th century managed to separate from them and worse of all, joined their "opponents", the West. That really must hurt them.

PS: And what Frank had in mind was that "History likes to repeat itself." And I actually agree with him.
