Getting a visa to stay in Poland longer than 90 days...

hello everyone,

So I'm researching getting a visa to stay in Poland longer than the 90 day travel allowance. I'm thinking about starting up a business as well as working for some English teaching schools.

Now some English schools wont help you get a work visa. Atleast that is what I have been told by some of the schools I have applied to. They just don't seem to want to deal with the paperwork.

But for either job it's a work visa I'd need to get in order to stay, correct? My other question is: Does anyone know how much money you have to be making in month in Poland to qualify for the work visa?

I don't really know much about this issue, but I think that It's rather not a matter of money, It's rather a company you want to work for must prove that they need somebody from outside of EU.

I don't remember well, but aren't you moving here for a girlfriend? Look into getting your temporary residence. It may be the better way to go. i looked into it but couldn't get one until I had a job. Also, my school was MORE than willing to help me with paperwork. I think ever situation and school is different though. Check out the temp. residence thing. It made more sense to me.

First off....... why don't you contact the Polsih Embassy in the country you are in??


i've been in PL since Sept 06. I am here as a tourist. I've been out of PL for a few hours every 80-90 days, and back in. No probs.

you will have to find a job at a school that has accreditation with the Polish Ministry of Education and British Counsil for them to get your documents.

You don't need a work permit/visa if you are a Native Speaker of English. I was shown 4 documents at the immigration office confirming that.

to start up a business you will need to get a Karta Pobytu(sp?) and PESEL and plenty of time and patience. those applications will cost you close to 1500zl. and they are ONLY applications. You could be refused. there is plenty of paperwork involved in these documents.

So you leave to an outside EU state and come back in to extend your stay, is that correct? that's it? and that's completely legal? Why even have the 90 day tourist thing if that's the case?

You can also get a temporary permit without a job if you have a fiancee and someone claims they will take care of all your expenses then you can start a private business to work after you acquire the permit, kind of a backwards way in. But without fiancee I don't know how it works. In any case expect some long delays with paperwork. My permit was delayed an extra month"The machine in Warsaw was broken" was the reason I was given.
