Going to Poznan shortly

Have been to Poland a couple of times and love the atmosphere. Heard much about Poznan from friends and the beautifull main square. So has anyone some advice what not to miss overthere and I mean, cultural, food, drinks and accommodation. It's only a shame that this time I have to go overthere on my own. Anyone from this forum who lives overthere and has some advice I'll buy a drink if you wanna meet up.

I'm going 16/11 for a couple of days, what is the best area in the centre to find a reasonable hotel and tell me where these places are to go out and have fun.

Thanks for your help so far

Ikar Hotel I hear is ok, or you can stay in the Brovaria (also a brewery) right in the old town.
