Golumki

I make golumki and have always used tomato juice I bake them in the oven with a 2- quart can of tomato juice Family and friends like them very much

Interesting. You can do the same with a can of tomato soup or a ketchup concentrate.

Golobki was Americanized to Golumki mostly by Italian Americans....these are the only people I hear this from.

I use v8 Veggie juice (pretty much tomato juice). I also use instant rice to make them quickly (stuff with uncooked rice).

I went to a jewish deli the other day, and tried theirs. It fell apart and tasted like it was made with brown sugar. I think it was gross, but is there a jewish alternate to the receipie?

The name golabki means "little dove" not exactly pigeon because they look about the size of a little dove all curled up.
