Good books about polish grammar?

anyone know of a place online or something where i can get polish textbooks, or just really good book about polish grammar mostly. I have no problem learning vocabulary and pronunciation and that stuff, i just need to learn about sentence structures and verb conjugations and tenses and cases and all that "good" stuff. I already speak Russian pretty well so i have somewhat of a background in slavic based languages and can understand a very limited amount of polish already. Oh yeah, and i can read polish fairly well (just need to review slightly) but i don't know what most of it means :D

i don't know, if anyone knows of any places let me know please.

I like how they send you little pens and bookmarks with their address on them along with the merchandise. Very homey...not many businesses that I know of still do things like that. Feels more personal :) I will order from them again.

For an actual book - I took "Polish: An Essential Grammar" by Dana Bielec out of the local library. It is fascinating and thorough. After covering pronounciation, she goes through each part of speech extremely thoroughly, and then goes into sentence elements and structure. Dom Książki has this on their website, also her book "Basic Polish: A Grammar and Workbook", which I haven't seen but I would think is good, based on this book.

There have been quite a lot of good books written on Polish grammar and being in the United States, you should be able to find a good second hand book shop with a collection to choose something from. I have some very good books but they are old and are probably out of print and maybe were never available in the United States even? If you are a studnet you could try your college library and/or try amazon, which specializes in books of all sorts and you may be able to buy something cheap.

They are quite old now but there was a set of two volumes printed in America called Beginning Polish Volume 1 and 2 by Alexander M. Schenker. I have the volume 1 with tapes and the exercises are very good for a learner. Mine is a revised copy from 1972 but the language itself has not changed much-just a few added words and phrases. He came from New Haven, Connecticut, America.

i'm not a student per say, i'm in the army but i'm at the special operations language school. they have a small library and its good for the subjects they have but they haven't taught polish there for a while. I'll try looking those up.

thats a good website tkoch. I wish they had a place to get alot of books on polish subjects and the language, besides books-a-million and barnes & nobles there aren't any. Most the people of Polish decent here are in the military and came from Chicago, New York, etc etc.
