get colloquial polish by boleslaw w. mazur. and i mean the recent one. it guides you briefly on pronunciation and has 18 lessons recorded by people. u will know how the language is supposed to work(or at least have a good idea of how) backed by least 1,300 words excluding #'s and verb conjugations. but don't expect to be able to understand songs or read articles or understand news. i would get teach urself polish but consistent poor reviews makes suspicious of it.

my reviewer name is torontomterodowntown

I'm learning Swedish. I really like it. It's easy to learn and fun.
My 5-year old daughter is listening on me and she's starting to speak a third language now.

The Spanish "r" for example is the same as in Polish, while in English many POlish people can't pronounce the"r" properly.
But Spanish is the way to go in the US. Many things that you buy have instructions both in English and in Spanish.
Many Mexicans along the South Borders of the US. There is a need for for Spanish translators.
Yes, Spanish is very popular. I know a few words. I watch Dora the Explorer.
