Hi guys.

Ill cut a long story short, as I dont want to bore people.

basically, a couple of months ago I got chatting to a Polish girl in a bar, I live in the UK. Im a regular in the bar so its been fun going in and seeing her, chatting more and more every time I go in. Over the past few weeks i have asked her out for a drink. She said "its not possible, I work 7 days a week in 2 jobs". I wasnt sure whether she was just finding an easy way of saying no so I left her my phone number the next time I went in.

She called me while I was in a club twice, but I didnt realise so missed her call. She text me to say she finished work and was going home. Gutted.

Since then weve been in contact via SMS a few times and using this site I sent a few sentances in Polish which she appreciated and text me back in Polish, she now wants me to say something to her in Polish.

When I said "im ready to give up, ill never get to go out with you" she replied with.."its not what you think, i really must work every day to earn money for my tuition back at home"

I appreciate that everyone is different, but the culture difference doesnt make it easy for me to get the message.

Does she want to be more than friends or not?

Opinions please... Krysla?

I've read your letter a couple of times.
1. She's working 7 days a week and doesn't have time to go out.- Might be true
2. She did call you and you keep in touch through SMS - sounds interested
3. She says it's not what you think.
I think that she wants to get to know you but maybe something is holding her back? Like a boyfriend? But maybe not. She's in a new country and she's only there for a while and maybe she doesn't want to get involved? Tell her straight out how you feel towards her. Don't be ashamed of your feelings and then you will know if it's worth your time to be with her.
But the only way to find out anything, is to ask.

I just had a very good feeling that the person most likely to give their opinions would be Krysla

Its very difficult as Id like to say it face to face, though she has said that she will call me when she has a day off. Though shes only around for another month, so maybe your right about not getting involved. Its very hard to pick and choose who you like though?!!?

Don't say it face to face. It's always hard to do that. Send her an SMS and wait for her reply.

Boy. If it's not what you think, then maybe she should explain more.

In America they're called "dikes". And if one of them rides a bike it's a "Dike on a bike".

Yes, very popular actually (the "long" form is Malgorzata).

Kasia (Katarzyna) is also popular - but I think it's less popular than Gosia.

I sent her a text last night saying that If i was annoying her or she wasnt interested then tell me and ill back off.

Didnt get a reply, but when I saw her in the bar she works in she said she didnt have any money on her phone to text back, which is fine.

What did confuse me further is the fact that she then thought "I was mad with her" for not being able to come out.. Its sorted now, but its a bloody nightmare.

Do Polish mobile numbers work abroad or is she likely to have a british phone while shes here?

DiscoPaul,

Reading your posts, the woman is probably not interested in you.
If a woman is interested in a man, she will find time, she will find a way to contact him, she will find a way to let him know how she feels.
Maybe she is curious about you. You are a customer at the pub, etc.

It is obvious to me that you feel disappointed with the way things are turning out.
Do not worry, it will get more disappointing.
I would back off. I would be polite, but keep my distance.
If the atmosphere becomes uncomfortable for you, find a different pub.

that is so true.....it's all about reciprication.....if I don't call or text someone it means that I'm not bothered....plus all of a sudden I'm really busy, work, studies, friends, family etc.....but if it gets to a stalking level, then I get peeved and tell them straight....If I am interested I'll make the time no matter how busy I am....

Oh My this sounds so much like my situation with a polish guy with the interest there and then it's not and then the texts and everything

The only difference i have sat back now and see if he will do the running it as working for me before maybe it will again!

Discopaul try my approach it may work for you

Do not send too many texts if she is not replying

Good Luck i know how hard it is sometimes !!
