Hi there! I'm struggling to find the correct way of saying the following sentences in Polish:

He will be substituted in 10 minutes...
He has just been substituted...
He was substituted because of injury...
Player no. 9 was substituted by Player no. 17
The Manager substituted him with another player

In a football context I think the correct verb to use is zmieniać / zmienić and NOT zastępować / zastąpić...

I'd be really grateful if a Polish football fanatic :-) could help me with these sentences... Many thanks in advance... Maybe in Polish a passive construction is not used... Maybe Poles have a completely different way of expressing the above sentences...
Pozdrawiam

You are right. I'm not a football fanatic, but in these contexts in Polish, the active voice or impersonal constructions will be prefered over the typically English use of the passive voice ("zawodnika nr 9 zmieni zawodnik nr 17").

On zostanie zmieniony za 10 minut. (10 = dziesięć)
On został właśnie zmieniony.
On został zmieniony z powodu kontuzji.
Zawodnik nr 9 został zmieniony przez zawodnika nr 17. (nr = numer, 9 = dziewięć, 17 = siedemnaście)
Trener zmienił go na innego zawodnika.

The pronoun on is usually omitted, unless there is special need of it.

I think zmieniać is slightly more frequent, but in general both are acceptable here.

Pio, almost, but not quite. Your translations sounds slightly artificial to me. I'd say:
Zostanie zmieniony za 10 minut (or Wymienią go za dziesięć minut)
Właśnie został zmieniony. (Właśmie go wymienili)
Został zmieniony z powodu kontuzji (Wymieniono go z powodu konstuzji)
Zawodnik z numerem 17 (z siedemnastką) wymienił zawdonika z dziesiątką (z numerem 10)
Wymieniono go z powodu kontuzji.
Trener wymninił go na innego zawiodnika (piłkarza)

You could try better, too.
No wonder people find the Polish language difficult. So many words that they cannot look up in dictionaries.

My bad. I mistyped it, and some beers do not excuse me. English words I do check several times, but when writing in Polish I had asumed that I can't do wrong...
Typing it on my Amiga didn't helped, it is somewhat difficult to use any spell checker there.
