Zeti told you how it worked, chaza. Please take heed of that and do your own work from there.

On nie jest taki - he's not like that

Sprawa jest taka - the matter is like this

Poles would like say Ty jesz jak ¶winia. Tanczysz w ten sposób. You need to look for common uses.

Peter-Olsztyn:

re:"Taki¶ m±dry?" This looks the same as a previous example but it is not. "taki¶" here contains a contraction. What has been contracted is the word "jeste¶", hence the ending letter "¶". The long form of this question would be: Taki jeste¶ m±dry?

good luck to all

No. Maybe I was tring to explain you this in wrong way. Taki gives a description but not clear description. You often use this word to compare something with other thing (but it's not neccesary for comparing). So you could say:

Tańczysz jak, taka łamaga co ze mn± chodziła na kurs
You dance like the clutz who was attending with me on dancing lessons

Actually my dictionary gives me only one translation taki=such but as you see we can use taki in sentences which in english don't include word "such".

Taki answers for a question jaki

Jaki? Taki.

- Jaki kolor kapelusza ma prawdziwek (a kind of mashroom)?
- Taki lekko br±zowawy.

When we use word taki we often show things we are talking about:

-Jakiego koloru zamówiłe¶ kanapę?
-Takiego jak to (pointing on my sweatshirt)

Mama pyta się synka jak± chce zabawkę. Malec odpowiada: tak±, jak w tej reklamie! I pokazuje palcem telewizor

Edit.................................................

Tańczysz jak, taka łamaga co ze mn± chodziła na kurs tańca
You dance like (who?), like (such) a clutz who was attending with me on dancing lessons

hi zeti
that clears some of my questions, therefore because taki can be more than 'such' do i decide what i want it to mean?
in you example of the dancing, you used 'clutz'. could i have used 'pratt', 'left footed idiot', 'john travolta'.

i ask these questions as they come to me, please dont think of me as some inept idiot for doing so.

if you know such person then yes you can ;)
It has to be something which you see in your mind and you tries to describe it by word taki.

Przypominasz mi takiego kolesia, z którym chodziłam do liceum
You remind me a guy who was attending high school with me.

(takiego = taki in biernik case)

You can also say it without taki word:
Przypominasz mi kolesia, z którym chodziłam do liceum.
Tańczysz, jak łamaga co ze mn± chodziła na kurs tańca.

It doesn't change the meaning of sentence at all. When useing taki you are showing (literally or just in your mind) a thing or a person you are describing.

I hope I don't mix everything up in your mind. I think as this word is not necessary in any gramarical construction, you can just think of it as = such and don't use it if you feel you don't get the idea of it :)

PS
Can I say in English you remind me such guy who was attending to school with me?

Tańczysz and jesz are verbs. Verbs are associated with adverbs. Here you use tak. Tańczysz tak and jesz tak. Tak is not conjugated because it's an adverb.

We don't use taki/taka/takie in the situations above, because they are adjectives (not adverbs). And adjectives are associated with nouns.

Taki chleb (masc noun)
Taka kawa (fem noun)
Takie piwo (neutr noun)

ok, as far as i am concerned the word taki is gone, if, as you say i donr really need it and i can use other words then thats the path i will take, the confusion is unnecessary.
