3) Hows everyday life?
4) Are there many museums worth visiting in Greece?
5) Are the heroes of old still "Idolized" if you will? (Odysseus, Achilles, etc.)
6) Are the old buildings like the Parthenon being renovated or renewed?
7) Would I be more than happy to visit Greece? Is it worth it?
Thanks for your time
1) Athens (capital) pop. 5millions, Thesalloniki (capital of Macedonia) is the 2nd city with 1.2 million inhabitants.
old monuments, museums and some fine places for tourists. Anyway Athens worths 2 days for the average tourist because Greece has more beautiful areas.
2) main religion: 98% christian orthodox, the rest muslims. (immigrants not included).
3) depends from the money

but definitely better than other countries. Criminality rate is small. average GDP- about 25000 dollars. Immigrants make 10% of the population.
4) ABSOLUTELY YES.
5) Sometimes. But not like idols (as in the rest of the world idols are singers-Helena Paparizou, football players-Euro Team 2004 etc). So just like in the US (even if anti-americanism is dominant in Greece).
6) We maintain them with conservative changes.
7) I'm Greek so i cannot be unbiased. Statistical data shows that Greece hosts 15 million tourists every year (140% of the population). Best places are islands like Rodos, Crete, Corfu, Zante (Zakynthos) and areas like Pilion or Chalkidiki.
