Does anyone know if there is a grocery store and a place where we can buy wine to bring back to our room? I noticed there is a 22% tax on liquor. Is this true?

No there is nowhere on the Old Town square which will sell you wine to take away. But there are a couple of places on Piwna (runs parallel to the Old Town square) which sell wine, beer and vodka.

Yes there is a 22% tax on alcohol (and most other things) but this is included in the sticker price you see.
