I have concerns over the immigration policy so I wrote to my MP.

It is often suggested on here that anyone who has concerns over the current lack of any decent immigration policy should write to their MP.

So I just have.

I hope that those who will have read any of my previous posts would know that I'm not a mud slinging, axe grinding xenophobe. I'm just an average bloke.

I'll happily PM a copy of the letter to anyone who is interested in its content.

Just curies what was said, and hope they will at least have decency to respond to your correspondence.

In my experience, MPs can be quite good at responding to letters. The effect on government is a totally different matter. In fact, many years ago, Crnogorac's pal, Sir Lord Archduke David Owen GNVQ helped trace my father's lost post office savings book and get it returned.

It’s a common trait to all governments no matter where you live.

I'm sure a reply will be forthcoming, however, I agree that not much will happen as a result.

Having said that, my MP has a wafer thin majority of less than 1,000. Therefore, taking no notice at all of such letters won't do much for their chances of re-election next time around.

What can realistically be done? The Poles have flocked in their droves as they are entitled to do so. Do u really think they care about decency when bread has to be put on the table? I echo the above sentiments, mass immigration is crippling certain parts of our economy but that was a risk of signing the EU Treaty.

Probably nothing, however, we either roll over and die or lobby the powers that be and say "enough!"

The British Government must be able to introduce legislation to make things fairer. It would be something if they just held their hands up and admitted that they've coc*ed up.

I wish this forum had an MP to write to. I'd complain about all the English that have invaded this forum, stealing our posting space, being rude and generally doing what the Poms do best - whinge.

We've got lots of you guys in Australia and Ive worked with heaps of them - they were generally lazy and inept at the quite simple manual tasks they were given. Poms are accepted though in Australia. I wonder if anyone would notice the Poles in the UK if they had English accents? Probably not.

Remember - 1940's England. Lots of Poles then - fighting for you - keeping your children safe - committed to helping you. Perhaps if the debt had been repaid in kind there wouldn't be this influx for obvious reasons.

The British government even has the audacity to belittle the importance of referendums so I don't have much hope. Tony Blair, the great new face of Labour 11-12 years ago has a lot to account for. Never have I known anyone swing to the opposite end of the political spectrum like him. Michael Portillo is a changed man but even he didn't yank the pendulum so mightily.

I think a lot of people don't even notice stuff in the news, especially if it's not deemed to be very interesting (today would be a good day to bury bad news), or if it just doesn't seem to affect them. This isn't helped by the fact that news programmes seem to be mostly speculation rather than actual reporting.

I made a few tiny changes and corrected a couple of grammar howlers, but will post it tomorrow.

In actual fact, very few Poles died in active service in World War 2. A few died from 'friendly fire' as the Russians had to fight their way westwards through Warsaw towards Berlin but the truth is, most died from natural causes in the labour camps from dysentery and other common diseases.

Bloody foreigners going to England, taking the jobs they don't want to do, upping the national I.Q., importing fit women, supporting the economy, bring cultural diversity and tolerance and then complaining on a Polish forum that the English don't want them.
This is in NO WAY a new complaint for the English,
I am certainly not speaking about all English people, most are very good people, but the empty vessels make the most noise.
I do not see anything remotely constructive about any of your comments on this thread?

About your decent immigration policy, would you choose to take only qualified Poles for specific job vacancies? I am not an expert on cleaning toilets, working in factories or babysitting but I did not realise it needed a masters?
We do not live in a fascist regime people have the right to travel. England is an Island in many senses.
