Have you ever been in Poland?

im going to poland at the end of march for a few days....i cant wait!!!!

The best week of my life was spent in Krakow in September last year ! I found the city to be the nicest one I have ever visited ! The people were so friendly and happy it really made me think about living over there !!

You're right. People don't feel like strangers here in the US when they are Polish. There are so many different races here that no one feels outcast. There are entire neighborhoods or shopping centers for each race. I live in the Asian area because there is very little crime here compared to other areas. Not too far from here is an all Filipino area with Filipino stores and restaurants. And there's an entire area called Little India and there's also a German area with a shopping center that's designed like buildings in Germany. They sell Polish food and Polish items in their stores. There's also a place called Little Ethiopia. Just every race has a place here. It's probably not that way in Poland, huh?

im going to visit a very special friend .....stopping in opole but visiting krakow.

I never been but would love to go to Poland.

been twice...to Warsaw, Wroclow and krakow. loved it. it was in the middle of winter though.... freezing and snowing so can't wait to go in the summer and actually live there for a while.

Just don't lie. The truth is people are not stupid and always in world history have been moving from worst to better places. And it's not all about money. It's really annoying when some people, like "Lady in red" think Poland is a great country, and Poles move to the UK because they want to "make some money". Maybe You are greedy "Lady in red", but I'm going to move abroad because only there I feel normal, Poland isn't and wasn't a perfect country, in fact - it isn't even normal. And will never be, because most of thinking people are far away from here.

Most of the Poles that go to work in the UK, come back home, in Poland. If it's not for money, so what for ? Going to parties ?...

and I think that 95% of emigrtants went to UK/Ireland ... because of money.

When I see places wchih some of people on this forum have visited becuse her their partner is form this town, I know that main reason is money. You can ask your Polish friends about town they come from and you will have the aswer.

I love poland and the people, must o been to various parts of it around 20/25 times since the early 90s, been to krakow earlier in the year, just back from warsaw and will be in gdansk for a few days from the 10th november untill the 15h.

But now i reckon i need to agree with polishmaster ( to a degree). What chance have all the (old) eastern bloc countrys got if the cream of the well educated, the hard workers, the thinkers, the planners etc all go looking for a better life in the (old) west? This is only my opinion, so please dont shoot me down in flames for it, but i think Poland , along with the baltic countries, romania bulgaria etc etc needed for there own benifit to remain outside the eu. Poland needs its brightest and its smartest in Poland, shaping and building the country for the future.


Please dont think for a second i am being anti-polish in any way

I travel to Poland every month and stay there for 1-2 weeks on each visit; i come across many AngloPols (people born in UK /parents Polish) who have made the opposite move because they say the quality of life is better for them in Poland and are disillusioned with what is happening in UK ie. failing NHS, failing education system, high taxes, yob culture on the increase, increase in serious crime, political correctness gone mad, a country which is losing its identity etc..... also look how many UK citizens are looking to make new lives for themselves abroad in places like US, Canada, Spain, France, Australia etc...

I see myself moving my family (wife is Polish born from Wroclaw) to Poland within the next two years.



No country is perfect, but there are some which are heading in the right direction ... like I feel Poland is, whilst England is taking backward steps !

I know that there will be Poles who leave their country and make new lives for themselves in UK, Canada, Germany or wherever, but there are those who are working abroad to make a better life for themselves and plan to return to Poland.



POLAND IS A GREAT COUNTRY .......why does it annoy Polishmaster when people have this view ? If Poles had the opportunity to earn decent wages in Poland they wouldn't have to move abroad .... but unfortunately the reality is that by coming over to UK they can earn several times more than back in Poland.

No, that is a really bad idea as life expectancy is still falling and there is a lot of crime in Poland. You can be mugged for your money and even thrown out of a train window for your wallet! England is still safer and social welfare provision is a lot better than in Poland. As for the health Service in Poland, well, you have to take drugs in to the hospital as there are no drugs inside. You will have to pay for everything, even giving bribes to the doctors for treatment. Poland to live in-certainly not!

It has been proven to you on this very forum that life expectancy in Poland is actually on the rise. How come you keep on repeating the same lie if by now even you know better?

I have not been to Poland for many years and, excuse me, I do not lie and resent that remark. Life in Poland has always been falling in the twentieth century and must be falling now as so many of the young are leaving with just the old remaining so this too must effect the statistics.
