Health care, USA is messed up what about your country?

What does your country do for you for health care? I know in the USA with insurance health care is still costly. With all our money paying for wars, it seems USA people are last on the list.

Health insurance is costly but you need it.
When I got into a really bad car accident the bill came up to $289.000. The insurance covered it all. Otherwise I would be in debt forever.

Its free and private health care isnt expensive to purchase - in the UK

But the infrastructure in the UK is under a lot of pressure because of the expanding population due to the changes with the EU...

All I know is that if I didn't have a job that pays most of the premium of my health care, then I would be screwed(:

Unfortunately, there are many people who don't have jobs that pay for healthcare.

I know elderly that cut pills in half to save money. That to me is sick, why should a person that worked their whole lives have to put their health on the line by not taking proper dosage? Carol

Polish health care sucks. It could be improved slowly if we would abolish Ministry of Health.

Healthcare for me is cheap. I only pay $10 per month and have a $500 deductable.

What are the benefits of having free healthcare? Who pays for it? The Dr's must not be getting paid that well. I would think that the lines would be longer and the treatment less than par.

My healthcare is cheap and good. It all depends on who you work for. Taking a job these days forces you first to check their benefits. Hey $10 per month isn't that bad.

Is that the cost for your medical. We pay $179. per week in USA toward our insurance.

i really dont like the idea of somebody i love not being able to get the medical attention they need because they cant afford it. the uk health system might not offer the best available but they normally offer something

In Norway the healthcare is free, but it suffers from not having enough funds. One would believe that in one of the Worlds richest countries we would have a good healtcare system ,but we dont. People die while waiting for operations here ,because the goverment wont spend the money needed.

thats because their pensions suck.. not the health care.

I dont know what neck of the woods you all live in, but my health care system
cannot turn folks away regardless of lack of funds etc etc..

the bottom line is, the hospitals eat the cost.. if a patient comes in we treat them.

I was pretty sure that was a national thing.. I would rather be here then try to
barter with a doctor on if I need a kidney and or if I will pay him handsomely to save
my life or die.. that to me is sick.

I have some friends from Barbatos and they wait to go there because medical is free and they say if you know the area, you know the best doctors.

Oh yes , between 30-40% tak of the income ,and then 23% tax on everything you buy.
Gasoline and Diesel has 80% tax

Health care in USA is far better than in Europe.If I analyze that,the EUphiles will want to eat me alive.

It's not as good as our plan then. My colleague pays $65 for family. I guess it depends on where you live. Dental I pay $5 :)

i got tossed out of her office and she dropped me as a patient. of course i wouldn't ever go back to see that wench but that's beside the point.

A totally free healthcare system is not good as well as a totally privatized system. In my opinion, the best system is a hybrid between the two. I believe the government should provide free coverage for preventative care, health screenings, some medicines, etc. Partial coverage should be offered for the other stuff. The rest should be covered by private insurance that is affordable to everyone. There should also be a subsidized form of extra insurance for the people who truly can't afford it.

If preventative care is given to everyone, then many will be able to take actions against diseases or ailments that may haunt them in the future. Really, preventative care is just a re-enforcement of healthy living. If a person really gets sick, then government subsidized insurance and private insurance kicks in.

There also needs to be changes in the laws that govern medical practice. Part of the reason why so many operations and medicines are expensive is due to costs associated with liabilities brought by malpractice suits. There should also be some form of tax credit given to R&D companies that bring about new medicine or technologies. These firms also suffer from copy-cat competition that offer an unbranded form of their products at a much lower price.

USA has got to do something. I am in the "Insurance capital" and you wouldn't know it. What mess's up alot of people is Husky for people that can't afford insurance. Husky olny pays set amounts so the bills get off set onto the ones without insurance or the ones that don't have any.

Which is a an absolute disgrace...as their country sits on a $388 BILLION investment fund due to their oil revenues ( which is second only to the UAE and 50% bigger than Saudi Arabias!!!)......for a country of 5 million people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Uk is free but I felt the standards are slipping, that was untill I had the unfortunate experiance of 7 days in a Polish general hospital. (Nightmare)

I dont have health coverage (self employeed) and is costly in America, but is the best in the world. Canada has universal coverage, but try to get in line to get a tooth pulled, a man had to finally come to US to get it pulled!! Yes it costs alot, but competition makes it the best, if no one wants to be the best and if this Govt thinks it can run it better,OM, it will be the worst ever!! People from all over the world come here. Its costly because of all those who get it abuse it and never pay their bills. We all pay for them, but it is best to treat people. We have law that says if you show up they have to treat you, unf. with all the illegals coming and getting it free many quality hospitals have closed their doors and shut down emergency rooms in areas that have many illegals who dont pay. Its a shame. I still wouldn't have ot any other way. My moms heart surgery cost 300K and her insurance paid all but 1500. So if you have coverage is great, I just pray I dont get sick before I retire and have medicade. But I dont worry about it. Car insurance pays for accidents, and homeowners in the house accident and builders risk covers bodily on the job, so I have a saftey blanket.
