I'm glad you are learning polish; You do not have to use "Polish letters", All Poles will understand you in net if you don't type the "Polish letters", many Polish don't have operation system that support the Polish capitals so they don't use them; use only english capitals in writing on keyboard and it is OK.

I met a much younger Polish man from East Poland last weekend and by Monday , like you , I had fallen head over heels .............I wish I could offer you some help ( and myself !)
