I won’t start a long ramble (rant in disguise) about why I think Polish girls can be so friendly – a lot of it for good reasond however I think some are due to the way women are STILL slightly oppressed, regarded as 2nd class and brought up to be somewhat simpering, subservient housewifes in SOME cases – mostly in the countryside in my experience due to the old-fashioned, Catholicism-inspired, patriarchal family values .
In the towns, I like the ballsy, modern, confident, feisty intelligent type who see much more positive about live and less caught up in their own self-indulgent worlds as per a lot of UK young women. Damn... I did have a little rant after all : -(
You could say we are giving this guy far too much attention, but it raises as few interesting points:
1. Abuse of trust while in position of authority – not cool. I have had roles where ppls had to report to me and could be sickenly nice (in a fake, superficial way) when they wanted something. I did not take it as a come-on though or try and jump them. I guess this guy must have little real contact with women outside his work...
2. Some posters seem to suggest that if the women is up for it, then the perv would be a fool not to go for it. I beg to differ: let’s say that someone is having marital problems, prenatal depressions etc. etc. Surely they present far too easy a target – there are those who enjoy singling out the ‘vulnerable’ e.g. .lonely single mothers, the recently bereaved, divorced, abandoned. Even if he did get her in the sack, how is going to improve her lot in life with satisfying his own... er, drives. No real care or respect... or probably even really interest in her life. Once he has got his rocks off, she is left to pick up the pieces. Low.
3. Big pet hate: certain types of men that think Eastern European women are basically cheap and/or very available due to: the man’s money/passport/ some other delusion about the standard of men in her home country. Sure, there are gold-diggers anywhere. But, no, I hear these creeps protest, it is NOT about the economic power I wield over them, it is the Polish/Russian etc. soul, personality, blah blah. Most of these types can hardly speak a word of their language let alone understand their perspective/culture/soul. Just a shoddy way of saying, ‘Even a sad sack like me can get a gorgeous young woman by... essentially buying her.’ Of course, in such cases, they both get what they deserve, but what bothers me is when such unscrupulous types tarnish ALL Slavic women with the same brush
I seriously doubt that, without this kind of mentality, this creep would even consider trying to encourage a student to betray all those she holds dear – he must at some level consider her a bit of a slut to even contemplate it. Very few Brits I know try to pull such stunts with Muslim women. So, I really blame negative stereotyping about Eastern European women for this sleazy attitude.
