According to "Dług honorowy" book they wanted to pay off US "debt" to Kościuszko and Pułaski. After the war Merian Cooper became movie director and directed "King Kong"in 1933.There was a polish movie about them "Gwiaździsta eskadra" but was destroyed (all copies)by communists after 1945.
