Hullo

I am just starting to research about a circus that I believe was in Warsaw before the WWII. I am hoping to find information for an elderly relative whose family were in that circus who ended up over here after the war, and for his family.

Any ideas where to start would be apprciated.

Thank you very much
Best wishes
Denise

I imagine there must have been many, here’s a sample of one such circus; Staniewski Brothers Circus Warsaw, December 1935.

This is a free copy of a short program for December 1935, few acts that are mentioned there are; American female pilot Edy Ruth, Spanish horse riders Los Aseveras, motorcycle rider Cliff Aeros, English juggler by the stage name of Ray etc. I’m sure that if you combed through their archives from various years of interwar period you’ll probably find what you’re looking for, start there and best of luck.

Look online for someone, who specifically collects older circus memorabilia. You could also contact an older existing circus, such as Ringling Bros. They may possibly be able to provide some old circus name suggestions.

A sincere thanks PF, for putting up with me FIVE terrific years, muah!

My uncle was in the Circus.
His name was Misha Mozes.
My grandfather was the founder of the circus.
You may contact me for further info if you wish :-)
