Great film by Israeli film maker Yoav Shamir illustrating how Jews are exploited & brainwashed by their own leaders into thinking 'the world hates Jews'...Very revealing scenes featuring Israeli teenagers on tourist trips to Auschwitz and how they are lied to and denied contact with Polish people for the purpose of perpetuating hatred...Big cheese ADL Abe Foxman (whose life, along with his mother & father) was saved by Poles, and now runs a $75 million a year racket, is also featured.

I have also seen the film Defamation after Seanus posted on PF about it, before you go off into the world shouting this is 100% fact, this film was made by an independent film maker Yoav Shamir http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yoav_Shamir. So the film is his point of view, there are no third party organizations that have come out and given it the thumbs up. If the film is factual and accurate, the most worrying point for me, is how they have brainwashed the kids.

Poland is a country antisemitic into its very core - except maybe for the non-PIS electorate.
Correction, the self-proclaimed Polish patriots on this forum are nazi born.
The non-PIS electorate stands for 70% of this country.

Are you saying the Poles who protected him took his families money?

This, I don't know about...From different little 'bios' I have read about him, it is said that a Polish family protected him...What their motivation was, I cannot speculate on, because I don't know...Is there a possibility they did it because they were good people?

Now, Foxman, who is a very rich man, goes into a tirade in the film where he says that the purpose of the Nazis and their 'collaborators' (Poles?) was to 'steal Jews money'...And right before this, Foxman says how everyone thinks the Jews are 'money masters'.

You would have to speak with Foxman to clarify the issue...But, it comes to mind that in the economic chaos and poverty of WWII, money would still be needed for survival, perhaps more than ever...Perhaps Foxman thinks that Jews should have been 'protected' without any monetary cost to them...Morally, he might be right, but in the midst of war, survival costs money.

It is sick how people profit from fear and paranoia. It is utterly disgusting! Many Poles see right through the nonsense.

I was addressing the thread, PP. Joe is right to voice his concerns over such characters profitting from their own paranoia and hysteria. However, I was thinking about the movie and not him in particular.

I can't speak for others, but it seems history judges such people favorably, even if they benefited financially for saving Jews. They even made a feature movie about one such (German) guy and he's considered a hero. They didn't make any feature movies about Irena Sendler. She didn't make 1 pfennig or 1 grosz on Jews. And it's not like Poles were sleeping on cash, and feeding someone, especially during hard times such as WW2 costs money.

Another misconception is that to save a Jew during WW2 was just a question of taking one or two home. Few people pause to think how many Poles it took to save a Jew and even fewer realize that one successful save, involving a number of people is expressed with just one Yad Vashem tree. Unsuccessful save attempts are also not rewarded in Yad Vashem

Few people, even those living in apartments, in many of those "champions" of Jewish freedoms realize that most dwellings were not built to either accommodate an additional family (often for years), nor did the building codes before WW2 require people to have secret hiding places withing dwellings.

Some Jewish historians estimate the number of Poles involved in helping Jews to be at least 100,000. Other estimates bring the number to (an exaggerated, in my view) 1.3million.

Seanus, you can say the same things about life in general, not just Jews. Media, in general, tries to create a world full of fear and paranoia. Okay, Joe has listed one example and he happens to be Jewish, but he ignores all the other examples who aren't. Look at the way the situation in the middle east is portrayed. It is pictured that way to create the most fear in westerners so we will do what the governments want out of paranoia. In the west we are brainwashed to believe Arabs hate us and want to commit terrorist acts here.

Media does create it. They have a choice of what to publish or broadcast. Did you know they sell more papers and get more views when people are scared and on edge? They have it figured out.

It's freedom of speech with a spin. They put their own spin on stories and that spin is often laced with tinges of paranoia and fear mongering so they can get people to pay attention.

Saw it online.
My point is the reach. With the gazillions of channels and huge movie promotions, sadly, in the case of too many Western minds, if it wasn't on HBO or in Cineplex it didn't happen.

There is NO FREEDOM of speech. That's how you call it, 'the spin'.

That what the mass media is serving is from A to Z calculated thought through or do you really believe that anyone f.e. at bbc, cnn, fox etc. can really say what he wants?

Depends on how you look at it.
If they don't want corporate sponsorship (ads) they they are free to write whatever they wish. Otherwise, they will write what their masters tell them to write. Since media are corporations themselves, guess who they side with?

I also saw the film a couple days ago after someone suggested to me on these forums.
In general I think it was an okay film.
