Ladies and gentlemen today is exactly the 99th anniversary of the Greater Poland Uprising.

Who?

Poles of the Greater Poland province against their prussian occupants.

When?

1918-1919 - the period when Poland took back its independence in a series of wars and conflicts against Germans, Russians and Ukrainians.

Result?

Polish victory, the first historical polish capital of Poznań returned to Poland along with most of the province.

Was this not the only successful Polish insurrection?

A polish province got its sh*t together, organised a large regular army and evicted the Germans to reclaim one of our most ancient heartlands for Poland, thats nothing special?

Being the nationalist i am i'll wank to that and call it special thank you.

Historians and Polish public opinion consider the 3rd Silesian Uprising to be successful what is my opinion too.

How long did the Uprisng last?

There wasn't much fighting involved - rather, they were canny and waited until the Germans were in a state of chaos, then simply kicked the Germans out of many jobs and replaced them with Poles. It was pragmatic, sensible and well executed - and testament to the German mentality of this area. Probably in terms of great successes, it's one of the greatest events in Polish history. Of course, it's not commemorated - because it's not "Polish failure pornography" and thus no-one is interested.

Actually there was a lot of fighting involved including armored cars, heavy machineguns and armored trains.

Delphia how about learning some polish historybefore talking about it? Yes it was pragmatic, sensible and well executed but there was loads of fighting.

I'm sorry? So the Kościuszkos Uprising and November Uprising which were even better organised pragmatic and executed were also a testament to the "german mentality"?

It would be a suprise for you captain idiot but being pragmatic and sensible is a polish trait.
delphiandomine:
t's one of the greatest events in Polish history

Again you're an idiot, Poland has literally dozens of epic battles and wars where outgunned and outnumbered Poles achieve absolutely crushing victories, there's periods of cultural growth that can be matched by few to none as well and a relatively small uprising is one of the greatest events?

Comment removed. Less of the name calling, please
