I don't know any links in English, but here's one in Polish

What I'm on about - Germans have made many underground hideouts to stash away the art and treasures before the Soviet army got to it. It was either Polish treasure robbed by Germans during their 200-year spree in Poland, or their own craft and art - and some of it has not been found yet.

Russians claimed and transported out a lot of stuff. Some might still be hidden.

The really interesting part is did they build tunnels to aid their future invasion and maybe stashed some equipment there.

Or, while I'm in Sunday mode - you know how they were Satan worshippers and pagans, I wonder if they left some of their altars and temples behind. And that's why Poland is cursed with bad luck - even the air feels gray and thick.

And, BB? that's my Sunday enjoyment thread, not here for you to deny everything, but for people who like scary stories and treasure hunting.

Ive had the metal detector out a few times at my place, im convinced there's something here somewhere, ive heard rumors of tunnels but i'll be damned if i can find them. The problem is unless you have a JCB its really hard work digging up random areas of your land.

Would be nice to stumble upon some Nazi memorabilia.

tere might be a grain of truth, who knows? It could be a good thing to locate the things for historical value. Then put a ticket machine next to the site and overcharge the tourists.

A few years back i met an old German guy in Polczyn zdroj..During the war his army unit was heading from Drawsko pomorskie towards the Baltic coast when their trucks full of amunition were stopped by an ss unit..

They were ordered to unload the ammunition , which was urgently needed , and to load into the trucks some boxes which contained gold bars , he is not sure if all the boxes contained gold , he only saw into one which was damaged , it seems the ss units own trucks had been shot up by a Russian fighter...

During the drive towards Polczyn news came that the Russians had cut the road between them and the town , and there was now a Russian tank regiment in their path , so the trucks were once again unloaded and the boxes burried at the roadside...

My German friend does not know what happened to the boxes after that as they parted company with the ss men , and these men all later died in a battle with the Russians further up the road..The Russians did not take ss prisoners , and the ss were not prone to surrendering...

So.... are these boxes still at the roadside somewhere between my farm and Polczyn zdroj , or did somebody come back and get them , did the Russians find them , or maybe some lucky Polish farmer...and yes..if i had a metal dectector i would go and have a look...

Shouldn't you be doing your homework instead of thinking of looking for "stuff?" At least post in the Random Thoughs thread.

No , you can buy them easy enough...the danger is of course that you may well dig up something thats been sat in the ground for a long time...just waiting to go BANG...!
