Population of Jews are about 0.02% of total world population, but, they are about 10-20% in top scientists of the world in last 3 centuries. This is very important and this is what makes them rich also in the world. However, this richness is not about resource and land richness, but, richness in financial capitals and production industries. Since their population were concentrated in Germany and Poland in last centuries, this region produced many top scientists and this regions had become an industrialized developed region then. Between 1930-1950, although big majority of them moved to USA, about 200 such scientists in different fields moved to Turkey too and helped industrialization of Turkey. Once Hitler requested Ataturk to give all those scientists in Turkey back to Germany, Ataturk rejected this. It was bravehood of Ataturk considering Germany was most powerful country of the world then. Jews were so intelligent? No, maybe, not - but, Europe had been in dark era and been busy with ideologies, religious fights, etc - same things were happening in Ottoman lands too - while Jews were working hard by giving themselves to science, craft, technology, etc. So, Jews, especially old Jews may feel some nostalgy looking back to countries where they had contributed. Poland is one of them although mostly worker class Jews were living there in Poland.

There are hundreds of Polish mathematicians much better than him as Poland is renowned for having the most talented mathematicians in the past and at present times ( polish students are in most cases the first in competitions organised by Microsoft corp.- just an example .

On the daily basis Polish people don`t have any problems with Jews in general .Some Jewish organisations have recently started demanding money from our country as if we were responsible for their deaths and war devastation in WWII .Which "kamienice" do they want to be reimbursed for if majority of them were destroyed during the war ?
They simply don`t want to remember that we were also victims of that war ,which brought for us another evil - communism , but we try to rebuild our country not forgetting about our past of course instead of whining .

It is quite normal for our relationships to be so closely tied as these two nations lived together in Poland for centuries .So , it is very understandable to have the same great personalities in our common history . This is the reason some Jews should stop this hatred campaign against Poland . Polish Jews who live in Poland feel like Polish and there are no tensions and resentment towards them . I know some of them and they are normal people who laugh at this Jewish American Congress or Israeli propaganda . If Jews want some reconciliation with Poland they should inspect their policy in this matter first .

Huge Steinhaus is a terrible example.

Clearly the best Polish Jew mathematician is Stanislaw Ulam.

He has a more acceptable surname.

You can't tell me a Steinhaus is an actual Polish jew. They are a German Jew that came to Poland obviously or just lived in Poland & Took Germany over Poland.

Jews arent just a religious identity as you claim.
They are a "race" too. Of course there are whiter Jews, black Jews too though. Ashkenazim, Sephardi's (and others if you dont include them amongst the Sephardim).

The fact is there are 16 million Jewish people in this world (mostly in Israel, US, France and Canada).
A lot of them arent religious at all.

Even the US government has stated that Jews are a race (was trying to find a link but cant find it atm).

PS. I can even argue that the majority of Azkhenazi Jews arent semites but thats another story and debate.
