Thank you for being honest. I think in time as more people learn of the history the presure will be put on the Goverment of Russia to stop avoiding responsibility.

You're welcome. But before taking responsibility I think there should be official investigation with documents revelation, with statements of both sides. Nobody can be convicted unless there's official judgement of the court. That was for Nazi regime in Nürnberg, same should be for Katyn.

This I totally aggree with you on. It is getting Russia to understand this needs to take place for healing.

MOSCOW, November 25 (RIA Novosti) - The Moscow City Court backed on Tuesday a lower court's refusal to exonerate Polish prisoners of war executed in western Russia's Katyn forest in 1940, a lawyer said on Tuesday.

Are there any sources in Poland that provide with "German version" evidence of the massacre?

Russia has admitted to the crime, now they say it was Poland's fault for killing Soviets. This is not true but it's another scape goat to stall the case. Taking the step backwards and refusing to release the files held within Russia cannot last forever.

I also feel that the Russia people that know the full history want to deal with the past and take responsibility. Putin on the other hand is well aware that this will open the door to all the deaths that took place when Soviets attacked eastern Poland on Sept. 17,1939 and continued even as Poland was an allie. It put's Russia and Germany on the same table.

Growing up in the USA I never had to deal with secrets and hiding history. My Dad would not speak of his past in Poland or Siberia. Russia, Poland and Germany were just country's in Europe that we came from. To study from the outside/in must be so differant?

Eltsyn did to the best of my knowledge. He's not Russia.
I try now to pick as more info as I can from different sources. I've recently run onto some reasoning proving (or.. well... trying to prove) that there were Germans shot Polish officers there. Of course this shouldn't stay stumbling block between us... that's why I'm for investigation.

It would not suprize me if they added more victims. Russian goverment must release documents and this is where we hit a stone wall. Family members want personal property returned that belonged to loved ones. I guess this would give them objects that were held prior to death and a closeness they lack. They cannot have the victim back so this is the only thing left.

this is a very good point
this film is a masterpiece i know im two years too late but a movie such as this shall remain timeless.
i feel dirty from the filth that hollywood pumps out. of course "the crime and the lie" is another story that can never be fully realized.
