Seanus:
On England? That's ok then :)

i told you

Seanus:
They have spy issues with Russia so let them deal with it. I'd deny Blair and Brown access to Scotland, they are not Scots IMHO.

Scots should capture, interrogate and then eradicate them

Democracy and freedom to Scotland! God bless Russian hand of justice! ;)

Well, we have the SAS to do it ;) It is Scottish, see David Stirling (creator).

We will teach the Russians democracy in exchange for more Smirnoff Ice :) :)

there is this old Polish joke -

a farmer (peasant) is harvesting in his field when his son runs to him - the son exclaims: 'Father, the Russians flew to the moon!!!'
the farmer asks: 'All of them'? 'No' 'So why are you wasting my time?'

It actually goes "All of them?" "?No just one".Refering to J.Gagarin.

hmm AFAIK Gagarin never made it to the Moon - better ideas??
btw have Russians actually ever landed on the Moon

ha

so the joke should actually state 'Father, the Russians flew to the space' 'All of them?' No. Just one' 'So why should I bother?' - and then Gagarin fits in perfectly - but the harvesting machine doesn't that well ;)

czyli nie Książyc tylko kosmos - sorry my mistake

Another one was:
"Father, father Russkies released Sputnik!" and father says "So what?He did his time so they released him"
In polish
"Ojciec, ojciec Ruskie Sputnika wypuścili!" "No i co?Swoje odsiedział,to go wypuścili"

Right, but the joke was "Ruskie w kosmos polecieli" not "na księżyc".

no problem.
Here is a new one I was told lately by a Russian,it refers to corruption in Russian Police.
Sasha got a job as a police officer, they gave him a uniform and a gun and he went on patrol. They didn't see him since then, the payday came and he still didnt show up.Finally they call him and ask "Sasha why didn't you show up to pick up your salary?" and Sasha surprised "So you gave me a uniform and a gun and even PAY SALARY???"

what fascinate me,... i grow up with thoughts about `American mission`, positive American role, progressive America. Soviets and Warsaw pact were negative side.

Now, USA becoming disguising to me, Soviets are no more and Russia evolve in positive direction.

Merged: Poles vs Russians

What are the most important differences between these two slavic ethnicities? After meeting quite a few Russians in southern Russia I have started sympathizing with Poles. They are a lot milder.

Poles love freedom while Russian are used to being servants of their rulers rather than citizens.

In individual level they get along quite well.I have never seen any friction between Russians and Poles while there is friction between Poles and Germans.
