Today I was walking and I passed a police station. I saw in one room from outside a weird red light. So I came closer and there was a huge picture of Lenin hanging at the wall, in a very weird room. It looked to me more like Lenin is being worshiped there. The walls were painted quite weirdly with communists drawings.

So, it looks like someone in that police station is a communist. I would assume that at least the highest ranking officers there are communists otherwise the picture wouldn't be there.

What do you guys think about it? . Lenin also attacked Poland but he didn't succeed, are those people who have that picture traitors? .

I cannot imagine if they had the picture of a certain austrian guy instead in a polish police station or anywhere in europe, it would be a worldwide new for sure

Maybe it was a bourdel and they used Lenin to attract more customers.

Maybe tomorrow when you walk past, you could take a photo of this police station and picture, so that we all know you're not just imagining all this?

In Russian police stations they still keep images of Pilsudki.

I wouldn't wish that on anyone, just worried that this guy might require medical attention:)

This is another option they have, instead of Syberia if he's lucky he will end up in psychuszka. He discovered one of the remaining secret UB stations and is dumb enough to talk about it.

Don't be so...silly!

I mean, instead of taking a picture and selling it for a load of cash to Gazeta Polska, he chooses to post about it on here. We should be thankful!

In the United States, such people would be considered traitors. But in Poland the population is being conditioned to reject patriotism in its commonly recognized meaning.

Did you consult a specialist as I advised you to doa few weeks ago? It seems your condition is deteriorating. When you saw things in the past, we joked about it but now it has evolved into a serious problem. I am really worried.

The guy`s imagination is too vivid. Is it due to overdose or underdose?

Are you sure it was a picture or Lenin himself hanging?

There are more and more Lenin churches rising all over.Be suspicious when you see Saints with small beards.

I think some oldies are given their reliance on the state. However, they are very much in the minority.

The only excuse to see pictures of communists in Polish cities - are retro bars and restaurants, playing a big joke on Communism. For example, there is a famous "The Red Hog Inn" (Oberża pod Czerwonym Wieprzem) in Warsaw (one of the best, people say), in Wola district, on the corner of Żelazna and Chłodna streets. Its interior decoration is all communist. One of the big, big paintings in the Inn represents the Communist leaders: Ochab (Polish), Brezhnev (Soviet), Honecker (East German) sitting behind the table with abundance of food in front of them (including a whole roast suckling pig), with Kádár (Hungarian) standing behind, while Fidel Castro dances - holding a cigar in his left hand and a waitress's ass in the right one. This picture supposedly refers to actual event, since the old incarnation of this restaurant was a meeting place to all sorts of sinister communist figures.
Bars like "Popaganda Bar" in Kraków, http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/Europe/Poland/Wojewodztwo_Malopol skie/Krakow-490219/Nightlife-Krakow-Propaganda_Pub-BR-1.html
are all over Poland.

You can take a "Communist Tour of Nowa Huta, with Crazy Guides" too, http://grantourismotravels.com/2011/01/17/a-communist-tour-of-nowa-hut a-krakow-with-crazy-guides/.

Yes, there will be pictures of Lenin, but do not take it seriously.

There have to be still some communists in Poland for sure.

In Turkish General Election 2011, Turkish Communist Party took 61.236 votes that is % 0,14.

They can still crowd a big stadium :)

Ah, you need some medicine too, I see.

Don't worry, the doctor prescribes a great deal of sour grapes to deal with your condition.

So maybe something like this happened to OP? :
God keeps a close eye on me and God understands why I do not go to our church. God, after all, for God's sake, could not be happy that - depicted in our stained glass window - the apostle Paul is confusingly similar to that of Vladimir Lenin.
(...)
The coat, okay. The pilgrim's walking stick in one hand, okay. The other hand raised toward the cross, okay. Everything is okay with the exception of the head. Because the figure of the Apostle Paul is crowned with - exactly alike - head of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin. And this is sad, Pan Jerzy. Forget the identical baldness; after all, all bald men are alike. But here is the same physiognomy, the same slanted Asian eyes, same cheekbones, same trimmed beard …

Jerzy Pilch, "Tysiąc spokojnych miast". In Polish, excellent read, recommended.

Red light and colour is characteristic only for stupid moves and popcultural pictures of Communism. Communists used only red flags.
In Poland they used mostly national white-red flags and never red stars. The most popular colours in that time were green (on the table) and bronze (on the floor).
When you see red "police" room (without address) in Poland these days it can be bordello or your wet dream only.

You sure it wasn't written "Poszukiwany za morderstwa&gwałty&inwazje" on the top of that picture? Cause it would explain A LOT! :)

Of course there are. There are communists in Poland, in the USA, in Mexico and of all things there are even commies in China! They don't represent a majority in Poland, nor do they in many former Soviet countries. There are communists everywhere (check under your pillows tonight) but that shouldn't be a worry if they don't get into power. Also mind who is a communist and who is just someone that the American media doesn't like!
