Donald Tusk, the current prime minister of Poland has a very interesting and mysterious history.

Some facts.

Donalds Tusk grandfather served in the Wechrmacht.

The other grandfather was building the Wolfs Den complex, supposedly as a slave laborer yet when having an accident he received full medical care and was visited (along with a small number of other workers, all professional Germans) by Adolf Hitler.

Tusks paternat grand-aunt (sister of his grandfather) died with her three children aboard Wilhelm Gustloff which evacuated German and German only civilians to Germany.

According to Szczepuła Hitler actually shook hands with Tusks grandfather (according to eyewitnesses) an unheard of thing to do towards a slave laborer.

So is Tusk a German?

The next time you open a thread in the history forum with a comment like that, I shall personally recommend to admin that he bans you from this forum for good.

Thats a very mysterious fact, we know that Józef Tusk was in a concentration camp, the mysterious bit is that we dont know in what character he was there, supposedly as a prisoner but no record of his stay exists anywhere, from there he goes to Wechrmacht.

The case becomes even more spicy when you realise that Wechrmacht did NOT recruit Poles into their ranks from concentration camps so there is an implication that Tusks family had an active part in German crimes against Poles but no documents exist either way apart from the very vague register of arrival.

Its pretty important, there's an implication that Tusk comes from a family with Nazi roots and hid it on purpose, thats pretty big.

I'm not suggesting anything i'm posting facts.

He was drafted into the german army which never happened to polish POWs or slave laborers which in concentration or labor camps, ever.

Those are the facts, whether he was a camp guard or something else remains unknown but his stay at the camp is shrouded it mystery.

"Dziadek w Wechrmahcie" is the book to read, Szczypuła compiles archival evidence, among other records of the fate of variou members of the Tusk family, the book is factual which makes it a good if a bit dry read.

There's more sources but she effectively compiles the most important bits of them all.

Thats to say there's other sources like Gustloffs manifest which indeed lists Tusks grand-aunt and her kids as passengers.

Essentially because nothing can be proven, after all this time we'd need documents from the camp he stayed in and we aint finding those anytime soon if ever and allegations are not enough.

Ukrainians were never visited by Hitler on friendly terms nor did they get out of a Concentration Camp in a Wehrmacht uniform, hell no one did!

Let him be a German if he is, the issue is whether what he does is for the greater good of Poland not Germany.
