I guess you should consider this on a person by person basis, while remembering that you can be both a heroe and an idiot at the same time.

What about modern Polish historiography and about what they teach you in schools regarding the Polish Communist Partizans.

I know in Serbia the Partisans are still held in very high regard and as heroes by many.

Obviously post communist Poland's historiography would be very different than during the cold war, but I'm interesting in knowing specifically how the Polish Partizans, not the Red Army or NKVD are viewed.

Hence his good knowledge of Serbian history, servile attitude to and admiration of all thinks Russian (odd think about many Serbians is that they see themselves as lesser people in comparison to the Russians), but he want openly admit it because he knows that they have reputation as baby killers and rapists after their recent Kosovo conflict.

Soviet partisans in Poland are not synonymous with Polish communists partisans.
Soviet partisans in Poland (former Soviet occupied Poland) after Katyn discovery were to Polish partisans an enemy just like Germans only more trecherous. That's the image people get nowadays from interviews with members of Home Army. Soviet partisans accepted and executed orders from Stalin so what would you expect. It really looks like in some areas they were more busy fighting Polish democratic partisans than fighting the Germans.

I wish I could say the same for my previous post(: Anyhow how else would you explain his fascination with Russia and knowledge of Serbian history.

I'm sorry I didn't realise there was a difference between The Polish communist Partizans ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armia_Ludowa) and The Polish Soviet Partizans (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_partisans_in_Poland)

So yes, I would like to know how the 'Armia Ludow Communists' are viewed in modern Polish historiography?

P.S I just have an interest in Eastern European history during the war.

Simple answer is until 1989 ish the Communist Partisans were the Official Heros of Polish resistance simply because the AK was far too hot a potatoe to go near. The rank and file were seen as patriots led by fascist traitors. Since the fall of communism it would seem its all change, the AK are now the Official Heroes while the communist partisans are rarely mentioned. Give it 20 years and there may be a bit of balance to these things, but not quite yet. Its the same with the LWP etc.

There were no "Polish Soviet partisans", you mean Soviet partisans.

Haven't heard about any. There were some Polish Jews - those who didn't identify as Poles.

Nobody would have an nationality in those ranks as their doctrine was: There are no nationality's only 1 globe or something. Any Pole who would joined Soviet partisants cause of ideology stopped being a Pole. Unless he was a scammer of course and just wanted to survive. But yeah not that many Poles joined Soviet partisants, there were plenty of Polish partisants to join even as you mentioned "Armia Ludowa".

For me their a bunch of scum becaouse they sat on fire my family's property cause they had a better "status" and was seen as nobles... While local peasents greeted my family with open arms when they returned after the war, right before the fire by some stupid AL or Red armists (or even both at the same time)

They fought Germans and most of them actually got murdered by Russians, yeah they're considered as heroes but being a tiny fraction of the real partizan movement they dont get a lot of attention.
The Polish Soviet Partizans

No such thing, Soviet Partizans would consist of Ukrainians and Russians living in Poland, Polish Communist Partizans were not always supportive of Russia.

Also how about stick to one username and stopp troilling you little f*ck?

=KingAthelstan]Do you regard the Polish Communist Partizans as heroes?

They organised a few serious military operations against German occupiers. Those who participated can be considered heroes. They fought for Poland, doesn`t matter they wanted communist Poland.

E.,g., on 10 May 1943 they blew up the Nur fur Deutsche cafe in Warsaw, killing 6 Germans. In another attack a few months later, the German death toll rose to 18.
